need help with basemap

Post by lucas.fa5 »

Recently got flashpro for my 09 Honda Civic Si and i put on the "Stock Tuned" basemap. My mods are just invidia n1 catback and a custom short ram intake. The basemap definitely made a difference, but i feel like its nowhere near its potential. I get knock cruising around town and during WOT pulls. Was wondering if someone could check out this datalog and help me out. I will also include my basemap below.

Would you say your driving style in this datalog is how you drive all the time? It's always uncomfortable to critique driving styles, but the way you are driving in this datalog is the cause for what I would guess is 90% of the knock. You're going wide open throttle (WOT) in sixth gear at 48mph which causes extremely high load at low RPM, which causes knock. In all honesty, you should never be going WOT in sixth gear unless you're doing a high speed run in the middle of nowhere. Really though even fifth gear it would be rare to go WOT for most guys. These engines need to be wound up in lower gears to get them moving. So keep that in mind, in your datalog, you had 32 knock before you hit the record button, so I don't know where those knock happened. But the ones that were recorded you can avoid those by changing your driving style a little bit.

As far as the datalog in general, it doesn't look too bad. There are a couple of areas where it seems as though the MAF sensor isn't getting a very good reading, perhaps from the intake design. Can you give us some information on your custom short ram, tube diameter, filter placement, stuff like that? It might be better to tune it speed density for the intake you have.

I usually do not do WOT in 6th gear, i was just doing that to get some knocks recorded for the datalog, not really knowinf if it would help see something on your end. The reason for the 32 knocks before recording datalog was due to quite a few street races but we dont speak on that lol. For the intake design, I went with an old design i found on the forums called the ‘X-Intake’. It utilizes the stock pipe, with the stock maf housing connected to an aftermarket air filter. The filter is located where the stock airbox was.

I’d also like to include, i know the intake is nowhere near the best. Will be upgrading to a RICKSPECD intake in a couple months.
