need a tune for 09 8th gen
Re: need a tune for 09 8th gen
I can help you with it if you'd like. The only two questions I would have:
Are you married to the DC sports intake? You have a lot of effort put into your setup, but the DC intake sort of negates a lot of your effort with the TB and intake manifold work. It will of course work, but your intake temps are going to be high in all types of weather, and the intake tube is smaller than your TB. Something in a 3.5" variant would really help make the best of your setup.
Did you port match the opening to match the 72mm K-Tuned TB, or is the inlet opening stock size?

Re: need a tune for 09 8th gen
car came with dc intake been wanting to get one, and yes the manifold is port matched
Re: need a tune for 09 8th gen
Okay, sounds good. Then if you plan to add a 3.5" variant in the near future, we can do a quicker tune on it for now and then spend the proper amount of time on it once you get the 3.5" intake of your choice. The proper route for tuning takes 10-12 revisions, so I would hate to have you do it all over again once you get the intake. My end is easy, but datalogging for twenty minutes every time gets old for you guys I think, especially with gas prices right now. So we can get it safe and able to have fun with in a few revisions, then spend the proper amount of time on it once you get the new intake.
Either way it's totally up to you if you want my help.

Re: need a tune for 09 8th gen
i would like even just a quick tuning and ever since i went bolt on car wont idle worth shit
Re: need a tune for 09 8th gen
Yeah the idle could need the relearn procedure for the TB, but it could be using a MAF based tune is causing the issue. Either way, we'll give this one a shot and go from there, this one is speed density so the idle should be solid. For the datalogs, shoot for twenty minutes in length with as much stop and go driving as possible. On the drive, we need to make one wide open throttle (WOT) pull in third gear from 2500-8600. For this first datalog, don't do any super aggressive driving, only make the one WOT pull so we can gather some data. My main concern would be the injectors possibly maxing out depending on how efficient everything is. But give it a drive, and let's see how it looks.
Vtec is at 4100 on the lower threshold by the way. Meaning you can drive above 4100 at part throttle and vtec won't engage. Only when you're near WOT will it engage at 4100, so don't feel like you have to shift before 4100 around town to avoid vtec. But give this one a drive when you can.
