Help With Tune Please

Post by Bam3292 »

I have a 2007 Civic Si. So far I have J37 throttle body and Hybrid racing TB spacer. RDX 410cc injectors. Hybrid racing CAI. After the throttle body and injectors the car runs awful right now. So I’m guessing I need my fuel table messed with cause of the extra air coming in. I know the base maps that Hondata come with aren’t very good with Hybrid racing intakes. I was hoping someone could help me / have a base tune for me to start out with. Trying to get this done cause taking $100 to fill up my truck isn’t cutting it haha

Thank you in advance!!!

Yeah depending on which calibration you're running, if it's not speed density it won't run right with the HR intake. And if you didn't grab a calibration for RDX injectors that is another issue. One of those issues will make it run bad, both of those combined would make it run terrible.

So your only mods are the RDXs, HR intake, and J37? The exhaust is all stock?

Yep and yes still stock headers and exhaust. With the muffler removed (previous owner) I’ll end up doing headers and exhaust in the future but not right now. And yeah it rev hangs and struggles to get to high RPMs right now as it is.

Okay sounds good. Have you made any datalogs you can post, so we can see how it looks on the current calibration?

I have not. Haven’t had time between weather and work. I’m going to datalog on Sunday. 30 min stop and go (mainly) and a pull in 3rd right? I know it’s going to look awful with how bad it’s running haha

Ok gotcha. No, definitely don't take it out and make a datalog with the calibration in it now. I'll attach a starting calibration for you that is setup for the TB, HR, and RDXs. I wouldn't want you to drive on whatever calibration you're driving on right now. I already know if it's not setup for RDXs, the fuel trims are terrible. And if it's a MAF tune, things are even worse.

Can you post the calibration you're running at least, just so I can see which one you have in there now?

Upload this calibration right now, and then make a datalog when you can of just normal driving of 10-20 minutes. If you can make a third gear pull from 2500-8600 that's great. But if you want to, or can, take it out for a quick ten minute drive right now and datalog it so we can see if things are better. Either way though, throw this calibration in there right now so we know it has a proper tune in there.

Ok I'll use that one and get you that 10 min with the 3rd gear pull. I should have it Sunday morning. Possibly tomorrow if the weather holds off. And I'm attaching the crap tune that I tried out.

Sounds good. Yeah the other calibration is setup for RDXs, but it's MAF based, instead of speed density. So that it the main issue with why it ran so terrible. The new calibration will drive a lot better. Just post the datalog when you can and we'll see how it looks.

So the weather today let me get to datalog. I can say it ran a lot better than before. I did 2 pulls with it. Around 10 min of driving and some idle time in there too. Let me know how it looks and if I need to do it again!

I sent you a PM about the injectors, but I don't think you've seen it yet. I'm curious if you can send me the link for the Amazon ad where you got the injectors. Unfortunately I think you got some fake RDXs, which is becoming a fairly common issue these days sadly.

I am sending you another PM regarding all this. I don't want to post a calibration on here for the injectors you have, just in case someone else were to download it in the future.
