2014 Civic Si Tune Question

Post by K24Josh »

Recently bought a 2014 civic si bone stock. I just ordered a 3” invidia N1 catback exhaust and a 3.5” Acuity CAI. My question is can I run these mods safely for now till I get my hands on a flash pro or would I need a flash pro before I do any of these mods? Thank you in advance😁

You will need a FlashPro for the Acuity intake 100%. The Acuity being a 3.5" tube, it throws off the MAF sensor reading and therefore delivers a poor reading to the ECU. This will in turn cause check engine lights and very poor drivability, and wildly poor fuel trims. Pretty much any big tube intake like that needs to be tuned speed density via a FlashPro calibration. The exhaust, you can run that without much issue, but the intake has to be tuned through a speed density calibration or you will run into problems. You wouldn't even want to start it really without having the right calibration in the ECU via FlashPro.

When you purchase a FlashPro, be sure to get the race version. The CARB version cannot be tuned via speed density calibrations. Heeltoe Automotive is an authorized vendor, you can purchase one through them here https://www.heeltoeauto.com/engine-mana ... si-us.html and use the code "RISH" in the checkout to save 5%. Rish is a YouTuber who has an affiliate link I saw, so it doesn't save you much, but $35 off isn't too bad.

If you need help tuning it once you get the FlashPro just let me know. I've done a bunch of Acuity cars and similar setups.

Ok thank you. I think I found a used one for sale, I gotta make sure it’s unlocked though. Also how would I tell the difference between a CARB Version and a rave version I would assuming that all the ones here are race version because in Canada we don’t have CARB

Please see the help file: https://www.hondata.com/help/flashpro/p ... purchasing

You can look at the serial number that is on the FlashPro to tell if it is CARB.
