Question about cutting J12

Post by seiledt »

When you have an obd2 to obd1 converter harness, can you simply disconnect one of the wires on the converter harness that will have the same effect as cutting J12?

Also, I am having to wait like 3-5 seconds to start my car after turning the ignition on, because if I don't wait the CEL stays on and rev limiter is set at 2000. Does this have to do with slow communication between intterface box and ecu because of J12?

J12 must be cut in the ECU. The problem with the CEL and rev-limit sound mor elike a wiring probem or a problem with the ecu. Try a different ecu and see of the problem persists, also try your ecu in a different car.
