2013 Civic Si Basemap help
Hey guys, I just picked up a hondata flashpro coming over from a ktuner v1.2 (got a good deal). I currently have an rv6 catted exhaust, Yonaka 3in exhaust, and a ktuned short-ram on the car. I don't really plan on adding anything else to the car as it's my daily ( plus I am not made of money HAHA). Hondata has a lot more basemaps than ktuner came with, and I'm wondering which is applicable to my setup? Any help is appreciated, thank you guys.
Re: 2013 Civic Si Basemap help
With the combination you have, if you want to run a Hondata basemap I would recommend grabbing the, "Short ram intake, cat delete, catback exhaust" calibration. Make sure you pull from the 2013 dropdown menu so you get the right calibration for your year. The 2013 calibrations are one year only. For the first drive, do some normal driving for twenty minutes and maybe one wide open throttle pull in third gear from 3000-7000 to see the WOT fueling. Then look over the datalog to see how it all looks. You want to see how it all looks before you go out and have too much fun.
Since you don't plan to add any mods, you should go in and tune it properly to build all cam angle mapping and vtec rpm, I can start you on my stuff and we can go through and tune it the proper route. You're looking at 10-12 revisions or so to get it done that way. But that gives you the best chance at getting the most power safely and finding the best rpm for vtec.
Either way I can help you with if you'd like, just let me know.

if you don't mind helping that'd be really cool! I don't know the first thing about tuning so i'd be lost HAHAHA
Re: 2013 Civic Si Basemap help
No problem. For the datalogs, we need them to be around twenty minutes in length with as much stop and go type driving as possible. On the drive, we need to make one wide open throttle (WOT) pull in third gear from 2500-7500rpm so we can work on WOT fueling. For this first datalog, keep the driving normal and calm so we can get some data before you have too much fun. Take this one for a drive when you can, it's the 0* cam angle with vtec at 4500. The 0* cam angle is the least powerful so don't get discouraged, it helps us a build a nice foundation for moving forward.

Awesome! I'll put this on today and put a datalog tonight! Thank you !!
Also incase this is important: I run 93 octane here in NJ

I lied, I did them on my way to the gym HAHA, let me know if I did everything right.. The first one is a longer drive with a pull in the beginning but I think I didn't go to 7500
Second one definitely made it to 7500 and that also happened near the beginning as well..
LMK!

Haha, no problem. Yeah overall it looks great for a start and your driving style works great. I made some fuel adjustments and some ignition changes for the few knock we had.
I'm also watching the fuel injector duty cycle. Your car seems to flow pretty well and it's demanding quite a bit of fuel on WOT which is great for power. The injectors were at 86% with a lean AFR in this one. So we're kind of on the border of needing them at this point, but we will see how this next one looks and go from there.
Here is the next one. This is the 15* cam angle now with vtec still at 4500. This one will feel better with the 15* of cam angle in it, so it should be a little nicer to drive. Take this one for the same type of drive and datalog.

Here's another log, i did a WOT in the beginning but it kinda sucked, there's a second one near the end which i think did better. Thank you!

It's looking really good. I made some adjustments, now we will move to the 30* cam angle with vtec up at 5500 now. We move it up and down over the next few datalogs to find the optimum vtec rpm. Take this one for the same type of datalog and driving style.

Here's another! I did two WOTs again... they're in the beginning, 2nd was better imo HAHA. Also this may be a little longer than 20 mins, i'm not sure. Took the long way to get some good pulls on empty roads

Re: 2013 Civic Si Basemap help
It looks really good. Be sure to wait until the car is fully warmed up before you make your third gear pulls. The first one you did was too cold for vtec and that entire pull was done on the low cam. The second one worked okay, but the coolant temp was still only 160 which is warm enough for vtec. Other than that, it looked really good. We will do one on the 30* cam again with vtec now at 4000. For this one you can make a ten minute datalog if you'd like, just be sure to get a clean third gear WOT pull as that is the main data sample we need now.

Re: 2013 Civic Si Basemap help
Hahah sorry about that, making sure I do them when my coolant temps are up, I did a couple in this log too. They're both around the halfway mark. I think the 2nd one was warmer.
Thank you!!

No problem. It looks really good. We will now move to the 40* cam angle with vtec at 5500. This one again can be a ten minute datalog, just be sure to get a clean third gear pull. Only this and one more, then we blend it out to see how it feels with all the tables set. So we're almost there.

Here you go! VTEC felt crazy when it hit im ngl LOL. Two WOTs both around the same time like half way through the drive I believe.

It looks good. Definitely starting to run out of breath on the 40* cam angle. We'll do one more on the 40* with vtec now at 4000. This is another one you can do a quick ten minute datalog, the third gear pull is the main data sample we need again.
