Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Yeah it's just that throttle blip from fifth to fourth gear that causes the scenario. I made a couple new changes for that, so test this one out and we'll see if we make any progress on it. This is a new scenario for me, so I'm looking at what all is happening when you do that blip.

Here is the datalog for Revision 1.3!
Seems like it's going down. I tried to do more throttle blips for you on this one.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Yeah the only knock you had on this one was what I would consider legit and not from the blip and acceleration, so that's good. I made some adjustments for this knock. Take this one for a spin when you can.
Sorry to have you do all this. I just can't overlook that stuff even though it's such an odd thing to happen.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
No worries at all! I appreciate the amount of detail and concern. I'll get the datalog for this revision on my way home from class. Should get it to you before 5PM.
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Here's the next datalog! This one was looking pretty good in terms on knock count.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Yeah that one looks good, I feel a lot better now. So we went back to Rev01 basically which has my base pedal in it, for the next one, do you want the sport pedal back in or which would you like? Let me know, then I will make the adjustments needed and post the next one.
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Sport pedal please!
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Sounds good. We'll see how this one goes, hopefully we're still knock free. Take it for a spin when you can.
I'm keeping the 1.xx name scheme for right now while we verify all is good.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Noted! I will be stuck at my computer for the next few hours so I'll flash this one and get the datalog to you by later tonight. Thank you again!
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
No problem, we'll see how it looks. You're welcome.
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Here's the next datalog!
Could you possibly check out how the throttle is reacting when I'm doing high RPM shifts going WOT into the next gear? I had a couple of gear shifts that were very jolty between shifts, and traction control was not intervening between those shifts. Not sure if you'll be able to see what's going on between those shifts.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
I would need a rough idea on the timestamp of the shifts you're referring to. It would be tough to go in and look at every shift in a twenty minute datalog.
Are you referring to full throttle shifts, or part throttle shifts? If it's full throttle shifts there isn't much I can do there, that's all the ECU controlling everything on the shift.
You will probably want to get used to driving with traction control off. Once you have your header and exhaust installed with a tune, first gear will spin very hard and you will engage traction control. Since the traction control is for safety and not for performance on these cars, it will just fall on it's face to stop the wheel spin. When I had my 8th gen the first thing I did after starting it was disable traction control every time, it won't offer you any performance advantage. Granted you can get the Hondata traction control system https://www.hondata.com/traction-control-product if you want to have an actual traction control that works in a performance manner. But the factory VSA will be your nemesis once you have all your parts installed and tuned. First gear will spin, and second gear will chatter the tires or spin depending on your tires, so having the VSA will drive you nuts and not allow you to lay into in first and second gear.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
I can't remember off the top of my head, so if I experience it in the next datalog I'll just keep a mental note on what time/area to check out
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Okay sounds good. All the fuel stuff looks great, had some knock in normal areas so I addressed those. I didn't see anything from a throttle blip which is good, we might have fixed that issue which is good.
Give this next one a drive and we'll see how it looks.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
I'll flash this and get a datalog when I'm out of class and driving home!
So what exactly was it you found and fixed for the throttle blip knock?
