Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Datalogs! I have attached two because the first one got cut short, and the second one has the full 20 minutes.
I do notice some throttle jolting and surging if I don't get the shift just right, in terms of clutch release to gas transition. It's okay though, if I get it perfect, the shifts are top notch and sound solid.
The only thing I noticed when having my Hondata app open on the side was during a slight 4th pull the knock count shot from 0 to 29 real quick. And progressively went up just a tad with other pulls. Other than that the tunes feel great.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Yeah the knock is interesting in the 4.1 datalog how much it happens at light load. In the 4.2, it looks like you rev matched a downshift from sixth gear to fourth gear, on that rev match you kicked vtec on with the throttle blip and then went part throttle in fourth gear. So I made some adjustments for that, we'll see how it looks in this next one. The knock are all in random areas areas, on your WOT pulls you don't have any. We'll keep chasing them though.
Were these datalogs done on the same tank of gas as the previous datalog?

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
It was definitely an odd instance. I'll flash this and get more logging in this morning. I should get you that datalog around 11AM or so.
Do you need me to adjust any parts of my driving style to seek out more of these oddities within the tune?

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
And yes! Sorry I just saw the part about the gas. All the revisions since Revision 1 have been on the same tank of gas. It has Costco 91 and I have been running some Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner through the system in every tank since when I bought it I didn't know the condition of the fuel system.
Regarding any fuel quality concerns, on my 10th gen I mainly keep an eye on the Knock Control which would vary from 0.49 - 1.00+
The knock control was a pretty good indicator of fuel quality in my area. I conducted several tests using different full tanks from different gas stations in my area, from Shell, Chevron, Sinclair, to Costco. Costco actually had the best quality as the other stations I saw the KC rise up much quicker. Using that same assumption I have been filling this car with Costco gas ever since. If you have any suggestions on changing it up I am open to anything you may make mention of.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Yeah on whichever datalog it was that happened in fourth gear, if you hadn't blipped the throttle on the downshift I don't think it would have knocked because it would have put you on the low cam. Since the throttle blip was in our vtec window, the blip met the parameters for vtec engagement and kicked it on. Then at part throttle it didn't like the timing there and recorded the knock. Not saying to change your driving style, just explaining the cause.
No you drive it however you normally would. We'll work it all around that driving style.
Yeah the 10th gens are extremely dependent on knock control. Since all of their ignition settings are algorithm based, it uses that knock control value even more than 8th and 9th gens. Granted the knock control does use a slight algorithm on 8th gens, it's not as difficult of an equation. The 10th gen stuff reads multiple tables just to deliver ignition, where in the 8th gen we can sort of control it in one table, or at least what feels like a 1:1 manner.
Keep driving it just like you normally would and how you like to drive. That's the best way to do it. At some point here, I might bypass the knock retard table so we can look at ignition without interference. With your knock control at 100, it's trying to remove timing to prevent knock. We'll see how this one looks, I'm hoping for progress on this one.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
As promised, by 11AM!
I think I accidentally did it again, the throttle blip into VTEC and the Knock Count going up. You'll probably see it in this log.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
No that one wasn't from the blip. But a similar issue. Can you try going back to Rev01.1 and take that one for a drive like you have been. I'm curious to see how that one reacts. I'm curious to see how the knock is on that one.
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Will do! I'll have to get that log a little later, I'm going to be stuck at my computer for a couple of hours so I won't be able to go out for a drive just yet.

Here is the datalog redo of the Revision 1.1!

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Wait, don't download that one. I think I may have gotten some of the datalogs mixed... Let me double check.
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Okay... Honestly I couldn't for my life figure out which was the correct one. You can try checking that datalog out but I wasn't sure how to check if it was the most recent one. I accidentally renamed one of them so the one at the very bottom was not the most recent one. I'm not confident enough to say that I sent you the right one. I'm just going to do another datalog and send you that file just to be safe, I've just cleared the rest out of the FlashPro to ensure I send the single correct file. Sorry about that.
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
No problem, yeah that one was a more recent calibration.
Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Here is the new datalog! Should be correct this time. Sorry again about that.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
No problem. Yeah it's interesting, I guess in your first datalog you didn't do the throttle blip on the downshift. I was trying to figure out why the knock count was going up each revision. Anyways, I made a few changes, I want to explore this first revision some more. I made a few changes to hopefully stop it from kicking into vtec on those throttle blips. Give this one a drive when you can and we'll see how it goes.

Re: Basemap Suggestions or File Needed
Here is the datalog for Revision 1.2!
There's a bit more aggressive driving in this datalog as you'll see. The knock count reacts little to none on the hard pulls through the gears but is slightly present through the rev match downshifting.
