Hondata Reflash - 12 Knocks - Would really appreciate help

You did not! This map works great. Power was definitely lacking but the car was very smooth. I did two third gear pulls, one was to redline, another one was not, I was just speeding up. Only 2 knocks!!

Great to hear. Yeah that one looked great for a start. I cleaned up some of the fueling, and the ignition for the knock. We will now move to the 15* cam angle with vtec up at 5500 now. I will move vtec around over the next few revisions to find the best rpm for vtec engagement and to tune before and after vtec for fuel. Take this one for the same type of datalog and driving style. Everything looked great in that last one, we'll see how it looks in this next one.

Yep looks great again. I made the necessary adjustments for fuel and ignition. We will now do the same 15* cam angle with vtec down at 4000. For this one, you can make a 10 minute datalog if you'd like and just be sure to get a clean third gear WOT pull.

I did a couple third gear pulls in this datalog, spread apart. Hope they are clean runs, I did hold them all one all the way to a little beyond redline. Normal driving after pulls. 5 knocks in total.

Yeah it looks great again. Whatever was causing the issue before appears to be gone, so that's great. It could be a combo of being tuned on the MAP sensor, but I think cleaning everything and inspecting it all on your part was definitely worth it.

So I cleaned up some of the fuel, and I touched up the ignition for the knock. Those knock were all in the same area, and very much in the common area for knock on 9th gens. So everything is looking just as it should. Here is the next one, we will now move to the 30* cam angle with vtec at 5500. We only have one more after this, then I blend out all the tables and you get to see what it will feel like.

Oh, also, I have the rev limiter set at 7500. Do you want to shift above 7000 or would you like me to lower the rev limiter to something like 7200 so you won't hit it shifting at 7000, or should I just leave it at 7500? Let me know on that, but take this one for a spin.

That is good to hear, I used to a weird idle and it seems to be gone now. Almost like strong, strong, weak, strong strong, weak. If that makes sense loll. New to the car tuning world, dunno the lingo yet haha.

Okay so I did the run and tried to do some city driving and got four clean runs on third to redline!

Can't wait to see what the final version looks like!

You can just leave it at 7500. Normally when I am driving fast, I usually shift by 6500 haha. Only going this far for the data!

No problem, looks good again. The knock is in the that same area, and one thing I forgot to add, each time we go up in cam angle it's a new ignition map. So it's not like the knock isn't going away, we're simply tuning each table. Sorry if that was making you nervous.

Take this one for a spin, for this one, you can do a 10 minute datalog or so and be sure to get one WOT pull in third gear like you have been doing. The third gear pull is our main data sample we need for this one. I'll start blending out the tables awaiting the next datalog.

That makes sense! Thanks for the explanation. I am not as worried about these knocks. When I had the intake on with the hondata reflash, as soon as I hit v-tec my knocks went to like 40+ and counting, I would immediately upshift. Took off the intake as soon as I got home.

Okay good. I just didn't want you to think we were getting knock no matter what. Yeah it's a little nerve racking when you see the knock running up like that. It hurts the excitement you had going.

So that one looked great again. I went ahead and blended everything out. Vtec looks to be happiest around 4800, but we can certainly move it up or down a little bit if you want. But try it out at 4800 and see how it feels, and I will look at the data to make sure it works at 4800 too. So go ahead and go back to 20 minute datalogs again, and shoot for at least one WOT pull in third gear. Other than that, feel free to drive it however you want. We may still get some knock here and there, so don't panic, we're still working on it, though now with all the tables blended it should be a lot of fun to drive (hopefully). Let me know how it goes.

This stuff is fun for me, and seeing you guys having fun with your car is the best part. You're the ideal person I like to help, you were scared so bad that you put it all back to stock, and now 24 hours later you're having a blast. This is what tuning and the Hondata platform are all about.

I did a data log and turned off my car before saving! I just went out and did another data log and turned off my car before saving again🤦🏾

Still getting some knocks but it sounds so good and drives amazing, just wanted to say thank you!

Will submit datalog on Monday, if you don't mind helping me fine tune this to the end!
