Base Ignition Curves

Post by kraquepype »

My car was tuned a while ago, and I got to comparing its tune with some of the basemaps. I'm looking to improve my part-throttle tuning and behavior.

My low-speed ignition map looks vastly different at low RPMs, it is flat until around 1500RPM.

Would there be anything to gain by switching over to a curve similar to the basemaps, or could there be a reason mine was tuned this way? It's a stock B16B so it shouldn't be too much different. I've attached some screenshots.

I would recommend discussing this with your tuner.

Changing that small flat section into a curve will not improve anything, because its basically at idle. Your map looks fine.
