Re: Unlocking flashpro from damaged ecu
If the ecu is damaged i took it to a store to try get it the burnt piece repairedHondata wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2019 7:25 pm Please use the 'send feedback to Hondata' function with the FlashPro plugged in and the ignition on.
If you reverse polarize the ECU it has a zener diode to pop an external fuse. Nothing bad happens to it.
What I really wanted was the story from the start, since you have posted about the same problem 6 months ago.
What shop tried to open the ECU? What was their goal in opening the ECU? Did they get the ECU open?

Flashpro Stuck On Civic Si Hondata Refuses To Help And Unlock It Any Other Suggestions?
I think it’s crazy i bought Hondata years ago and I’ve been supporting them over the years and now I can’t get one simple service done. This is poor customer service I refuse to buy another flashpro and i have one here working perfectly fine My ecu was damaged while my car was at my local mechanic for a rebuild apparently there was a mix up and every car there ecu got burnt on the board. They replaced the ecu but my flash is stuck on the old ecu and Hondata refuses to go into the database and unlock it. $700 it’s a little bit of money so if anyone has any suggestions please help because at this point the car is up for sale because I can’t get the flash on it to tune it it’s supercharged with 1300cc injectors brand new engine rebuild and fx400 clutch kit
Re: Unlocking flashpro from damaged ecu
This is the third ECU which has burnt in two years. That's more than all the other people with Si FlashPros put together over the last 12 years.
The only way we can unlock the FlashPro is if you send in the dead ECU with the FlashPro. That's not our choice; there is no other way to unlock the FlashPro because we need physical access to do it. But we will not unlock ECUs which has been physically opened in order to prevent fraud.
If your mechanic has damaged three ECUs then I suggest you ask them to cover the cost.
