One week old s300 burnt
One week old s300 burnt
Hi guys so I went to start my civic today and it started but ran horrible. Shut it off and connected my laptop to the ecu but couldn't get a connection. Pulled the ecu out and smelled the burnt smell. Upon further looking I found the actual s300 board had a burnt spot on it. Im looking to assistance to see if this can be repaired? This has been in my civic for about a week with no issues at all and then bam

Re: One week old s300 burnt
That is not repairable and is not covered under warranty as something is wired improperly for it to cause it to burn like that.

Re: One week old s300 burnt
No offense but how would this be a wiring problem if it has not had any issues and all of a sudden this happens. Ecu also has no sign of any damage or burnt. Also how would this not have any warranty being brand new?
Re: One week old s300 burnt
I'm also going to see if my selling dealer can help me out before I assume I'm sh*$ out of luck
Re: One week old s300 burnt
Also just for information purposes I put my old chipped p06 ecu and it started/runs with no issues. Checked all grounds and power wires with no problems. Also no codes for anything either
Re: One week old s300 burnt
This is from a fault with the internal power supply in the ECU. It either is the ECU itself or the wiring.

Re: One week old s300 burnt
Haven't found and wiring problems and the p28 shows no problems. Can you tell me what the smd value is on the circuit board FB5? I can fix this myself but need to know this. Also why did my other thread get deleted with this questionHondata wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 9:05 am This is from a fault with the internal power supply in the ECU. Re: One week old s300 burnt
Even if you replace FB5 it is just a symptom of what has happened to the s300 and it still will not work.

Re: One week old s300 burnt
Other thread was specifically about the FB5 smd that got deleted....hondata cannot disclose to me what the FB5 value is per the email I received. Also hondata informed it it will cost $300 to replace the board. Ill be damned if I'm going to be total out of pocket $800 for a piggyback. I WILL fix this myself and help anyone else who has any similar problem. Onto figuring this out myself since I am getting zero help from hondata. Should have just gone with a stand aloneHondata wrote: Mon Dec 13, 2021 2:56 pm Even if you replace FB5 it is just a symptom of what has happened to the s300 and it still will not work.
