set ignition timing

Post by stephancrxboosted1 »

hello, I have a built B16A1 and it is ready for the first start, only now I want to sync the ignition with my s300 p28 ecu.
I have a timing light but there is nothing else on it, so I can only time it on tdc with advance disabled. Now my question was, if I set the distributor exactly to zero and in s300 at the '"set timing" instead of 16 degrees also set it to 0? or does it not work like that..

Are you saying that the crank pully doe not have the correct timing marks on it?

well no I mean my timing light doesn't have a display or anything like that to set those 16 degrees that hondata asks for in "set timing" to sync the ignition timing. You can also set 0 degrees there instead of 16 degrees

If you don't have an advance timing light go to online, set timing, leave it at 16 and turn the distributor to the middle of the 3 marks on the crank pulley.
That should be 16 degrees assuming the marks on the pulley are correct.
