Man we're so close, haha. Everything looked great, just some pesky knock again. Made some more changes. Take this one for a spin whenever you can, no rush.

could the knock be being caused by an external rattle?

i understand what knock is and that was probably a dumb question but ive heard the knock sensors are notoriously sensitive and the No.4 has been what has giving the most knocks

Yeah for a minute I thought it was the previous datalog with a lot of knock because it jumped up very similar. It's probably low on oil a bit because we've been sort of beating on it for tuning. Generally the more vtec pulls you make the more oil used I've found. But yeah, see what you can find. It's just weird because it's inconsistent. You have low knock for a few datalogs, then it jumps up. Then it's good again, and comes back. This one, it knocked in third gear but not in fourth gear on your pull. So it does seem to be a little bit odd, the validity of having a false knock with a completely stock car is very low, but possible. To me, it's only the responsible thing to do to make sure it's not ignition based before we decide on false knock. I always exhaust all options with ignition and fuel before we decide it's false. But it sucks, because all the fueling looks so good. Which is a good thing, just a bummer we're still chasing the knock is all.

No it's not a dumb question, there is truth to the false knock on these cars. That didn't make sense, haha. But yes, it does happen. Generally it's from having a race header and it rattling against the crossmember. I just want to make sure we exhaust all options of it being real before we determine it's false and make the necessary changes to incorporate that into the tune. Technically we can turn the knock sensitivity tables up so that it won't record a knock, but I don't like doing that. And in the end, that is a decision you have to make for us. I don't make decisions with peoples car like that, it's always the owners discretion.

Anyways, I made the ignition changes based on the knock. See how this one goes, then we'll see how it looks and go from there. Sorry about all of this man, sometimes they are just difficult on us. As mentioned, the fueling looks killer, I'm excited about that, just want to get the rest of it dialed for you.

Don't be sorry you have spent tons of time on this especially for a stock car. I am appreciative of everything you have done and continue to do. Like you i just want to know the issue and correct it. I will go through everything i can on my side and continue to do the logs. Thanks man!

log done. Ran it down to fuel light and refilled again. Knock seems to have disappeared. Going to try and check plugs, wires and compression before work.

Compression test done all cylinders within 5psi avg 191. pretty good numbers for 185k miles. Iridium plugs my understanding is not to be gaped.

Yeah it looks a lot better. Since you put new gas in, if you want, let's go back to Rev14 and see how it acts. If the knock comes back then we know it's real, if there is no knock on 14 we might finalize that one since it looks like it pulled a little better on Rev14 than Rev15. It's up to you though, let me know what you think.

Yeah that looks a lot better, I think we're back on track. We only had one knock at part throttle in this one and everything else looked really good. I made a couple small changes to tighten things up and remove that knock. This might be the one, we will see how it looks when you get a chance to make a datalog with it.

It looks really good. Fueling is great, and no knock. Go ahead and make another datalog this weekend sometime if you can with this same revision. If it looks good, I think we're good to go at this point.
