Flash Program? I thought you proved that was a bad idea
I am confused, some one please shed some light on this or correct me if i am wrong. When Hondata was first started, the site said not to buy chip upgrades from any other company such as Gude or Jimwolf ETC... Cause every car is different or the upgrades that you may have on your car may differ from the tested car that they burned the chip from. So they put down Mugen, Gude, eriks racing and all the other tuners out there that spent alot of time in making a chip to sell to the public. well they sold that idea to me and probly every other Hondata user out there. So now they have jumped on the band wagon and started to sell flash upgrades for the SI and RSX just like all the other tuners that they talked crap about. i bought Hondata cause i believed in their product and mangment, and i still do. But to go back on what you said and be like every one else out there , right after you told millions of people that you were different, Makes me believe that Hondata inc is going down or have run out of idea on how to make their product better than it already is. What's up with that??

I hear you buddy. But to show you the light, the RSX is a new car in the mainland and I do think that they mentioned certain products that they used when they dynoed the flash program.
I think you are over generalizing what they said.
I am very sure that they are not recommending most popular JDM programs like spoon, or mugen. Because people in the mainland sure aren't using Spoon or Mugen products.
Erick's racing is a different story. THey can custom program honda's or use hondata.
I think they even have a reprogrammed flash just for stock RSX's.

Yea i see your point but if i call Ericks racing in cali and tell him what combination i have he can only guess or even if he tunes a program on the dyno , I am in Maryland, he isnt, humidity, temp, altitude, octane differences, i mean the list could go on and on. a custom tuned ECU for each individual car would prove to have better results than any massproduced ECU ever could ( Just as Hondata said). And all i was really saying was that I thought it was interesting how some companies try so hard to sell you something and they tell you how great there product is and why its so much better than the competition. And then to come out with stuff the competition had all along. Hondata should step forward as they have in the past, not backward.

Hondata is keeping all the registered owners of the RSX and the SI reflash on hand. When a tunable system will be released these individuals will be given a chance to upgrade. Something you will never find form Mugen or any other magic chip manufacturers. The vehicles also retain all driving characteristics along with all the OBD-2 diagnostics and controls. This is the only system that will pass OBD-2 tests since it still runs all the ODB-2 test equipment.
Most cars have one fuel and one ignition table that is controlled by rpm and manifold vacuum/boost to give you 3D output. The vtec computers have double this since they have really two different cams. Now throw in VTC (the item that was added to create vtec-i) and you just threw in a forth dimension. The tuning of this type of system requires a lot of time, patience and most importantly skill. This type of skill level I'm not so sure if even I have.
Tuning an ecu isn't as easy. There are a lot of variables. Not to mention the fact that its easy to have something fail on you when you encounter the weakest link.
When you take an automobile and push for performance beyond what it was designed for you can easily find the weak links.
