SManager Plugin Editor?

So I've been working through some laptop issues with my personal machine and I was working off of my work machine yesterday.

On the big desktop screen I always notice things I never notice on my 13" machine. So I see this:

and I open up a little IDE, play around with it for a minute, realize Lua is a scripting language I've never used, search the help and Google around for Hondata plugins, (with no appreciable results), and move on with my day. Luckily I happened to grab a screenshot of my desktop at some point while I was talking with someone online.

But today it's gone:

I thought maybe I was nuts and it never happened until I remembered the snip :)

What happened? Are we going to be able to write our own plugins at some point?
