Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
Thank you i will give it a try tomorrow. Cant wait try the cam angles blended.
Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
Thought I replied but guess not. Thank you and I cant wait to try out the new tune tomorrow.
Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
The blend tune feels good. V-tech comes on pretty strong, file attached.

Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
Looked really good for the first blended pull. Be sure to keep doing the 20-30 minute part throttle driving too so I can dial that as well. But man, we're almost there. Let's try the next one with vtec at 4200. See if it pulls a little better on the crossover. It's totally up to you and what you feel in the car, so feel free to tell which you prefer.

Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
I will give the 4,200 a try, I think the car will like it. Yes, it feels pretty solid already surprised on the out come so far. Good stuff, your the man!
Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
Vtech at 4,200 felt great around 6,000 you could feel it pick up again it seemed like. 1 3rd gear pull at the end launch 1,2,3,4. Surprised how good the launch felt at 4,200. Let me know what you think i tried t get some regular diving in to.

Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
Looks great man. Part throttle fuel trims are great, WOT fuel was only off by a percent or so in a few places. I tightened up the WOT fuel in this next one, this should be it.
And yeah it looks like it took off a lot better at 4200 with your elevation. I found that to be the case on another guys 8th gen and was surprised how much it likes the high cam down low with your elevation. It definitely helps it get out of the hole for sure.
Here is the next one. If you can make a datalog just like that one we'll see how it looks. But we're definitely right on the verge of being dialed.

Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
The vtech cross over wasn't so abrupt and way smoother. I will get another log tomorrow. I really appreciate the help, you have done a great job. I had zero, "what was that" moments this hole time. I have been out of the scene for 15-20 years or so and to come back and have support like this is a game changer.
Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
Good to hear, a smooth crossover is always good. Some guys really like to feel an abrupt crossover, but to me a smooth one is ideal and makes for a better experience day in and day out.
Thank you for the kind words, I am glad you're happy with it! I like to think I've done enough 8th gens I sort of know where to go with them after getting feedback from all you guys. I've actually learned some things on your car being at such a high elevation. So I may incorporate those in my regular tunes.

Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
I have a big question to ask. I'm planning on attending a event at the end of the month if I can make it. I'm pretty sure its a 3 mile course at about sea level. Will the car compensate for the altitude change? Or do I need to plan on showing up early to log and adjust fuel and check timing for knock?
Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
That was going to be my next step once we got everything dialed. I have been adjusting the normal WOT columns during this tuning process, but without data from closer to sea level we can only hope to get it close. Is there any chance you can take a drive down to sea level some day and we can do some datalogging, or is that too much trouble? If not, if you can get to the track and make a third gear WOT pull before heading out to the track that is pretty much all we need. I would also like to get some fourth gear pulls to make sure you don't have any knock in fourth, not to mention a datalog from some on track driving to make sure it's all good while you're out beating on it. The tune will adjust for part throttle, but WOT is where we need some data.
Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
I will get a log at sea level this up coming weekend. Not sure if I will be able to get a 4th gear log at this closed course see what happens. In the mean time I will get a log from this most current calibration in the next day or so.
Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
The last calibration pulled smoother all around. The regular driving is with the A/C on and a passenger. 3rd gear pull A/C was off.
Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
That’s good to hear. I don’t see a datalog posted, were you you able to get one?
Re: 08 SI MAF tune help
OOps, here it is.
