k100
how do you plug into the k100? Also, is that hondata ECU manager program offered on the main website the program used with Kpro? I was understanding anyone with Kpro could access my ECU like if I had Kpro already installed. So that I could use a laptop and that program to gain access to my ECU.[/i]

The answer is basically: you can't.
Users cannot plug into k-100, because k-100 does not have a USB port to connect to a laptop with the k-Manager program.
As I understood it (anyone correct me if I'm wrong here...) k-100 kan be tuned by authorized Hondata dealers (preferably on a dyno) with an ECU with k-pro installed temporarily in your car. After the tuning session the settings can then be transferred to your k-100.

I see. My hondata dealer will put in a temporary ecu, tune my car, then download those settings into my ecu and then put it back. I thought anyone, even a friend, as long as they had kpro could tune the car. Apparently it takes some more advanced work than just plugging in and tuning.

I do not work at hondata.flopmeister69 wrote:I see. My hondata dealer will put in a temporary ecu, tune my car, then download those settings into my ecu and then put it back. All that is needed is another kpro, no special equipment is needed. I'm not going to post how to do it since I'm sure hondata would rather people go to an authorized dealer with training to do it.
It's safe to say that not everyone gets their k100 tuned at a hondata dealer. If you're interested in how to do it yourself, you should check out some other car forums like clubrsx.com or k20a.org. Keep in mind that you are suposed to have a hondata dealer do it -- it's not as simple as plugging a cable in and tuning.
