Can anyone help me out

Post by Spiffybiscuits »

Was wondering if anyone could look at my datalog and see if this tune is safe for my car? Not sure how to read knock count properly.
Would greatly appreciate it. I am using the stock tuned 6000 rpm launch map that comes with Hondata. My car is completely stock and I use 93 octance gas.

I like the tune just wondering if its ok for everyday use?

Oh and the file size is 500 mb so I can't upload it here. I have it on Google Drive account if thats ok.

I couldn't figure out where to edit post but I compressed the file and it's much more reasonable.
I still can't attach it though even if it is under file size requirement.

Overall it's not too bad. There is a lot of room for improvement, but not unsafe by any means. I would say there is some performance left on the table from what I see.

Can you give us a little more info on the setup? Yours is a 2013 I'm guessing? What mods do you have?

Hey Eficu, I appreciate your response. 2013 SI bone stock. Would love to get your help dialing it in. I see you help a lot on this forum.

No problem, happy to help. Are you keeping it stock for a while, or do you have plans in the near future to add some performance parts? I ask to to determine the best way to go about tuning it for you guys. If you plan to keep it stock for a while, we should spend some time getting it dialed. If you plan to add an intake or DP in a few weeks or a couple months, then we can dial it quickly the way it is, then spend more time on it when you add parts. So, let me know your plans to add performance parts and we'll go from there.

I plan on keeping all engine stuff stock. Just doing mounts and suspension for now. No exhaust planned either.

Sounds good. Then I would recommend tuning each cam angle individually that way we can build the necessary data to build a proper cam angle map. That would get you the best performance and also make sure it's tuned throughout all the tables. You would probably be looking at 7-10 revisions to get it all dialed and blended out.

Let me know if that works for you, and if you have the time to make datalogs. If you need it done quicker, we can clean up the file you're on right now, but going the long route would give you the best product possible. If you have any questions let me know.

Ya I would like that. I can get data logs whenever you need. What amount of time should I record? That data log is a trip I make everyday if it isn't too large.

Just lmk what the next step is on my part. Thank you!

Okay good. Go ahead and load this calibration and we'll get started with this one. The datalogs should be in the 20-30 minute range, and try to make them with as much stop and go type driving as possible. The datalog you posted would be pretty good, we don't want long steady speed driving like having the cruise control on while on the freeway or something is all. We want the throttle to vary and your speed as well. While on the drive, we need one wide open throttle (WOT) pull in third gear from 2500-7500 rpms so we can see the WOT fueling.

This first one will be on the 0* cam angle, so it won't feel too powerful as it is the least cam angle possible. It basically provides us with a good base moving forward. So if it feels a little sluggish, don't stress, it will get better as we go. Vtec will be at 4500 on this first one. I will move it around in the next few revisions, but I will let you know where it's at so you can be ready for it.

I made some MAF scaling adjustments based on your datalog you posted, so we should be pretty close on this first one. But on this first one, keep the driving fairly calm and only one WOT pull in third gear until I can look over everything. I like to clean up any big chunks before you get too spirited with the driving.
