In need of a basemap for a k24 in a 8th gen civic si
Hello,
I have a 2011 civic si which the motor blew 🤷 🤦but I ended up finding a jdm k24 I believe it is out of an 04 or 05 tsx. I tried uploading a basemap on flashpro for a tsx and it will not let me. Does anyone have a base map for an all stock k24? All I have is headers intake and a 72mm throttle body. Any stock basemap for a tsx is greatly appreciated!

Since you're running the 8th gen ECU, you have to run an 8th gen calibration. Then you will need to make the necessary cam angle mapping and what not in accordance to what that engine has. Do you know which VTC wheel it has? Injector size?
Are you running the k24 head as well, or did you swap over the K20Z3 head onto the k24?

Yeah it wouldn't let me do the tsx calibration I was thinking of maybe just copying everything from the tsx calibration over to a civic one but yes it's a k24 head as well I did not doing anything to the motor it's all bone stock other than the headers and intake

Injectors are stock so 310 and the vtc wheel is from the k24 so it's 25 degrees

Okay sounds good. Do you want help tuning it, or are you just trying to find something to get you started and you’re going to do it yourself?
Based on your setup, I would highly recommend tuning each cam angle individually and then blending everything out. That would give you the best tune. Not to mention the only way to get it right for you. A basemap might male it drivable, but not ideal.
If you want help tuning it let me know.

To tell you the truth I have no idea how to tune 😅 I was looking to get a basemap to get the car running even if it was a stock basemap until I saved up some money for the tune. I just barely put the motor in today and am probably going to finish putting the rest together tommorrow. Headers intake radiator axles etc. But I mean if you can help tuning with the tune i'm all for it!

Okay, no problem. I just wanted to make sure you were wanting help and not just looking for something to get started on. I'd be happy to help you tune it so you can enjoy the car, I'd hate to see it just sitting there and not be able to drive it.
Yeah if you want me to tune it, I can put together a basemap for you. As mentioned, we would want to go through each cam angle one by one to dial them in. For the first one, being the 0* cam angle, it might take a few revisions to get us in the ballpark because of your setup. Then once we get it good on the 0* cam angle, the other cam angle will go faster. I would guess probably about 12-15 revisions in total, but it would be a complete tune as it should be done, no shortcuts basically. If that works for you, let me know and I will put together a basemap to get us started so you can get it fired up tomorrow when you're done.

Yeah help with the tuning would be awesome! BUT first thing is first haha I'm going to get everything I need to on today and fill it with fluids so I can get it started and then we can start with the tuning👍

Sounds good, I just wanted to make sure you were okay with the process. Some guys don't want to take the time to do it right.
Quick question, are you using the K24 intake manifold, or the K20 manifold?

Yeah man I know nothing about tuning haha you sound like you know your stuff but I am using the k20 rbc manifold that I ported to fit the 72mm skunk 2 throttle body and i believe a 2.5 inch injen intake not a cold air it sits right under the brake booster
Re: In need of a basemap for a k24 in a 8th gen civic si
Okay good, glad I asked. I started setting it up for the K24 manifold and then figured you probably bought the K24 as a long block and used your RBC. I will go in and put things back how I had them, and we'll go from there. Thanks for letting me know.
Yeah you'll learn a lot about the process as we go, and you will see how it all feels different as we change cam angles and stuff. I also made some changes so we can fine tune each angle since you only have the 25* wheel. Should be fun though, I'll get that file to you here in a little bit then.

Okay I've got it together for you. So, we will start on the 0* cam as I mentioned with vtec at 5500. I set the rev limiter at 7400 per the 04-05 TSX basemap. If you want it lower, just let me know, 7200 or something would be fine too. Just keep me in the loop when you plan to fire it and then drive it. I don't have too much on my schedule today, but if it's tomorrow that's fine too. Just let me know when you plan to drive it for the first time so we can clean up any big chunks quickly so you can take it out for a longer drive.

Awesome thank you! I hope to at least finish everything and fire it up today! Fingers crossed 🤞 but with this tume I can at least start it up right? Do I do like dataloggong or anything when I do start it up?
Re: In need of a basemap for a k24 in a 8th gen civic si
Absolutely, you can start it, and drive it with this file. It will be a fairly close start, I just wouldn't want you to go out and beat on it is all until we get the second revision in there is all. But yeah this file is plenty good to start and all that.
It is up to you on the datalog to start. I would imagine you're fairly nervous on the first start after all the work you've put into it, so I wouldn't worry about datalogging the first start unless you are able to. If you can datalog the first start that's great, but you don't have to. It would give us some idle data before you head out on the first drive.

I was really nervous about starting it but I got it all together today and just started it with this basemap thanks so much! it started up all good, just stayed at 900 rpm at idle not sure if that was part of the base map? I just let it idle for a little and it started to warm up a little to much so I shut her off. That's something I'm going to deal with tommorrow haha I'm beat from today! Haha
