K24a MR2 Spyder Tune

Post by K24MRspyder »

Hey guys, new to this forum but forums in general. Just wanted to introduce myself and ask for assistance if possible. I just finished swapping a k24a (jdm k24a2) into my toyota mrs, im still awaiting a PLX wideband to come in. Mods are intake/header/exhaust and most likely my bigger issue 70mm skunk 2 throttle body. Currently I can use a stock basemap from hondata and the car will start and run great with a slightly high idle. Once warm the vehicle will start to surge from 1200-2000 rpm and smells very rich. I dont know the A/F yet due to awaiting the wideband. When I partially cover the throttle I can get the car closer to a normal idle so im thinking its with the tune. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

IT sounds like there is an air leak.

Have you tried adjusting the idle parameters?

Have you checked for leaks?

Have you tried cleaning the idle controller?

No air leaks that I can find. The throttle body is a bit bigger compared to the 63 that it comes with.

It sounds like an air leak, or you could also have bubbles in the cooling system.

I think I found the leak. Very small though. Also, I was reviewing the other threads with the PLX Wideband install and you guys reference a wiring diagram but everytime I click the link it says error.

I have a similar setup. My airleak was from a MAP port on the throttle body itself that needed a plug.
