extremely rich at idle- K24a

Post by mikemcchezz »

Just installed my k24a into my ep3 and am on the base map for k24a2.

Idle is really rich/rough and spikes to really lean when I blip the throttle.

TPS seems to be working, and I changed out the MAP on my ep3 throttle body just to be sure it wasn't bad. I made sure they are plugged into the correct plugs on the harness too.

I attached a short datalog, any ideas?

I looked over your datalog. Double check that your MAP sensor is working correctly. The car is idling at -0.7 vacuum.

I replaced the MAP with a new sensor from honda, it seems to be just as funky but different. Reading -29.9 psi before i start the car and -18 psi at idle. AFR is better but still all over the place.

I have idle set at 900, but its constantly surging from 1100-2300rpm with no inputs from me.
It does this even if I check disable Idle valve, (engine is hot)

TPS is min 1.2 and max 100.5.

Anything else I should check?

I would check for vacuum leaks.

Ed,
New TB gasket+TB Adapter gasket and cleaning the IACV seemed to have fixed the idle. Not sure which specifically since I did both at the same time.
Thanks all for helping a noob :)

No problem. Do you plan to get dyno tuned or do you need a remote tuner. Let me know what your plans are.

Ed,

I need a remote tuner for now.

If you are willing to help, I can do a datalog after I fill up with 93 octane.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Sounds good I will prepare a base calibration file so we can get started.
What modifications does the car have?
Are you running the stock 25* VTC gear of a 50* VTC gear?

Ed,

Engine is very stock. Stock VTC, ep3 exhaust manifold to 2.5 exhaust. Stock 04/05 TSX RBB intake manifold, stock injectors, ep3 throttle, hot air intake.

Mike,

Upload the tune and create a normal driving datalog after you fill up with 93 octane fuel.
