I have a powertune digital dash that i am sending data to via can H and L from the kpro ecu. The dash is working correctly but i had some issues with the update speed, we logged the can speed and the ecu is only transmitting at 5hz instead of 20hz or 100hz. Isn’t kpro supposed to transmit at 100hz, any suggestions? The bluetooth is faster than the canbus right now. Thanks for any help.
Cheers,
Canbus transmission rate
Re: Canbus transmission rate
If there is a CAN bus error then the transmission rate will be slower because the KPro will time out between each transmission. Check the termination resistance and whether the receiving device acknowledges CAN messages.

Re: Canbus transmission rate
What should the termination resistance be? The display is working it just updates 5 times per second.

Re: Canbus transmission rate
Is there anyway to change the transmission rate? I have it hooked up exactly like the help file suggests for a motec dash.
Re: Canbus transmission rate
What speed are you using? 500 kbps?
There's 10 different CAN packets which get cycled through at about 100 Hz, so each packet type is only sent at about 10 Hz.

Re: Canbus transmission rate
I have tried 1mb/s, 500 and 250 both Hondata Protocol and Motec SDL. It does not seem to affect the update speed of the dash. I understand there may be something new coming out with the next firmware update to help.
