2009 Honda Civic si Calibration

Post by Killarjp »

I’m looking for a calibration for my Honda. Currently running Stock with Tune. Mods I have are Skunk2 RR megapower exhaust. Injen SRI. With stock headers. I feel like I’m not gaining much with this stock base map. I’m not looking to get a proper tune just yet until I buy more parts for my car.

Every calibration you find will need some revisions to get it dialed. How long are you planning on running this setup before adding more mods? What are your plans for mods?

I can help you with it if you want. We can start you on a complete file and make revisions based on your datalogs. It would probably take five revisions or so to get it dialed.

I’m looking to have this set up for a bit until I get a little more money for a turbo kit for my car which is not gonna be any time soon. Reason why I didn’t bother to buy headers was because the turbo kit is going to come with a manifold and exhaust. I just want a little more power from the parts I have now since it is my daily. I feel like I’m not gaining much with the stock tune with the parts I have on it.

Sure I would love the help. For the data log what are you going to be looking for? What I mean what should I be logging?

Gotcha. Yeah if you want some help, I’ll send you a file to start on. You’ll make 20 minute datalogs of stop and go type driving. Then you’ll make one wide open throttle (WOT) pull in third gear from 2500-8600. For the first datalog, you’ll keep the aggressive driving to a minimum, once I see the first datalog and make revisions, you can get after it on the second file.

Let me know if that sounds good and I’ll send you the first file.

Okay sounds good. Give this one a drive, 20 minutes of stop and go driving as much as possible, and a WOT pull in third gear from 2500-8600. As mentioned, don't get too carried away with the driving on this one, just nice and smooth with the third gear WOT pull. It will be close, but I like to clean up any big chunks before you get after it.

Okay so 2 data logs basically one of just normal driving for 20 mins and second is the 3 gear pull.

You can do it all in one datalog. I can trim the third gear pull no problem. So just one datalog, drive around for twenty minutes, and at some point get the third gear pull from 2500-8600. If you want to make separate datalogs you can, but all in one is just fine.

Looks really good. I made a couple WOT fuel adjustments and some part throttle ones as well. No knock which is always good. Feel free to be more aggressive on the driving if you want. Still make the datalog with 20 minutes of driving and the third gear WOT pull from 2500-8600.

Unfortunately the fuel cap wouldn't be from anything in the tune, so maybe double check the cap and go from there. When you flash the computer, it does reset the monitors, so it could be a loose cap or something. Give it a couple clicks and see if it comes back on.

Here is the next one, honestly it might only take one more revision after this to get it done. That was almost dead on from the start which is nice.

Looks really good on that one. Made a couple more couple percent fuel changes, and I removed some ignition for knock in one area right at redline.

Take this next one for a drive. On your drive, make your normal third gear pull, and also make a fourth gear pull from 3000-7500 so I can check for knock in fourth gear. If you can run it up to 8000 that's great, but then you're getting up to fairly high speeds. Just do the best you can safely.

Looks good. I made some small changes again, and some ignition changes for the knock. Same thing, third ear and fourth gear pull on this one.

I will run the datalogs through Virtual Dyno and see if they good enough to use for power reading.

Here is the next one.
