17-1 ERROR CODE but do not know why!

I recently bought a kpro v4 w/ECU from Tri State Motors for my 2002 rsx type s. the car is basically completely stock aside from innovative mounts, stage 2 clutch and a custom cold air intake... I went to upload a basemap today, the k20a2 with cold air- dyno tuned, I drive the car and vtec DOES NOT engage at all. I don't end up getting my CEL to come on until its like 5-7 mins driving it and I get a 17-1 VSS malfunction when the whole time Im driving the MPH works and my RPM works even after the CEL comes on. I plug my stock ecu in and vtec and everything engages just fine... If anyone could possibly shed some light on this issue id greatly appreciate it! just incase!! to clarify the ecu with the kpro installed in it IS NOT the same as my stock ecu.

What ECU is it? An automatic ECU with the VSS circuit like a PND?

It turns out they sent me the wrong ecu (Crv ecu) and I have a 02 rsx type s.. at the time I was not aware that a k car needed a corresponding k series ecu and k swap cars it didn’t matter as long as the ecu was kpro compatible.
