Connectivity Issues Hondata unit --> Com Port

Post by BRMS »

My main problem right now is the connectivity between the laptop and the hondata unit itself. At first (2 weeks ago) the unit worked fine and there was no problem with connectivity. Then i suddenly had issues with the laptop. I disabled the FIFO buffer like the manuals said. Im runnin' a Dell Laptop 8100 Inspiron Notebook. I was using Serial - Serial connection at first. Today i purchased the USB-Serial and the same problem.
When i try and connect (F10) in the Hondata Logger connects for about a second (i can see the RPM moving and the "Dash" is functional) then it says Connection Error.
Im not an idiot when i comes to computers. I have enabled and disabled the Com Ports and tried to tweak the settings here and there. Im stumped....im unsure wether the problem is the Computer or Hondata (which i doubt?!?). Please somebody help me!

make sure you have the OBD1 v3 selected in the Hondalogger ECU button. Also you may have a problem with the USB adapter. We only recommend using the Keyspan USB adapter. It also comes with software to run diagnostics on teh adapter to make sure it is actually commmunicating.
