K-Pro D17, cranks, no start issue.

Post by snyderkj717 »

Hello,

I installed a KPro D17 kit from HAMotorsports. I'm having trouble getting the car to start with the .kal I uploaded. AEM timing gear was installed at a professional shop with a new timing belt and tensioner. I'll list all the information below.

The car cranks, but, does not start.

Also, when I turn the key to II without the laptop plugged in, the ECU makes a screaming noise and the immobilizer light blinks. If I plug in the laptop, the ECU stops screaming and the immobilizer light stops blinking.

What's that about?

Thanks!
Kevin

Crank, no start.
'05 Civic EX Coupe w/ factory A/F wideband, and factory '04-'05 Civic EX PCM Sub-wire harness w/ Secondary O2 sensor wired to E connector.
Drivers Installed, On Line, Ignition On, uploaded the D17A EX VTEC w/ A/F Wideband calibration from K-Manager. Uploaded to ECU on version 4.3.3.
Stock exhaust, stock header, stock airbox/resonator. K&N air filter is only mod.

KPro SN: K-Pro4 52738
ECU PN: 37820-PND-A06
ECU SN: 2062-602504-0C25
Current K-Manager installed: 4.4.3
Original .kal uploaded onto ECU: 4.3.3
I've attached a datalog of trying to start the car.
The .kal I uploaded to the ECU back in May.
I'm just now at the point where the car is one piece and I can try starting it.

Thank you so much for all your help so far!

I hope it's something simple. The immobilizer key does flash when cranking.

Is this using a Hondata cam gear or just a an AEM cam gear for a regular D17?

The issue was bad grounding. HAMotorsports was super helpful and walked me through troubleshooting.

I had to dremel brush the two grounding contacts on the thermostat housing, the threads, the bolts, and the ground on the transmission bracket.

It started behaving completely normal after that. It let me upload a tune, (upload failed before,) it primed the fuel pump, and it started the car. It's running now!! :D :D

This has the AEM timing gear.
