Lsvtec turbo, eagle rods, forged pistons, upgraded springs and cams.
I recently purchased an ecu updated with new capacitors and hondata. While waiting on my ecu, I borrowed my friends hondata ecu to test my car. His setup is B16 turbo. His ecu and tune ran pretty good with just the need to change injector sizing, and add slight fuel. When ecu arrived for my lsvtec, I loading a new calibration file and had problems getting my car to stay running for more than about 5 seconds. It would start then die. I assumed that the base tune was the issue so I put my friends (B16) shop dyno'd tuned map on my new lsvtec ecu (we didn't download his tune from his ecu, it was provided by the tuner). Very similar experience. The only way that I could keep the car running was to put it in closed loop. Even then it wouldn't stay running when reving up the RPMs. After many map changes and builds and wiring verification of grounds and sensors, I borrowed a different friends (H22) hondata chipped ecu. This time I created a new map and changed the setting for my car. Car started and ran ok. I then put my friends (B16) tune on the (H22) ecu and my car ran fine.
Now for the really odd part. I can take my ecu, put my friends NA H22 tune on it, plug it into his car, works fine.
I can take his ecu with hondata, put my tune on it, plug into my car, works fine.
The only combination issue that I am having is my new ecu in my lsvtec will not run any tune that i put on it. Any ideas on why the my ecu will not work only on my car, but will work on others, and theirs will work on mine?

It sounds like the calibration you are using on your vehicle is not ideal. Since Your ECU works on their vehicle and their ECU works on your vehicle.

Re: New Hondata ECU doesn't work in my car, but friend's does
That is what I thought originally, but I am using the exact tune on both his ecu and my ecu. I just take my tune, erase his ecu and flash my tune to his ecu. Then I take my ecu and erase and flash his tune on my ecu and it works on his car and his ecu works on mine. Is there anything that would be impacted by my hondata ecu is a P72, and his is a P28?
Just for additional information, i took the tune that would not work on my car with my ecu, and put that exact tune with, no changes, on 3 different ecus. 1 was hondata v1, 1 was v2, and 1 was v3 (P28 that i was previously talking about). Any combination of my tune and anyone elses ecu would run fine in my car. All of the other ecus where chipped by the individual that owns it, mine was the only one that was purchased already chipped and rebuilt.
Currently my ecu is in my friends stock honda H23. Is there anyway that the my ecu can't account for my larger injectors, 4bar map sensor?

Who socketed the ECU?
Can you post pictures showing the soldering on the bottom of the ECU?

HA motorsports.
I don't think I can show the bottom, there is a void if removed sticker over the middle screw.
I can take pictures of the side with the hondata chipped in if that helps.

I would recommend that you contact HAmotorsports about this.
