HI,
Is it possible to use single wire oil pressure & temperature sensors with the PRA K-pro 4?
I know they're not as good as 3 wire electronic sensors but I already have a VDO pressure sensor (0-10 bar 10-180 ohm) installed in this engine, is it as simple as running a single wire from one of the analog inputs to the sensor & ground via the engine block? If yes can the voltage offset then be used to adjust the sensor reading in K manager?
Same with the oil temperature sensor but will need a pull up resistor to a 5v output from the ECU?
Thanks.

Temperature, yes:

Pressure, possibly. It depends if they are linear or not. But with the VDO sensor it would already have the pull up. But you would have to see if it was 12V or 5V and also would have to use a common ground to avoid ground loops.

Thanks for the reply.
Having looked at the spec sheet it says 6-24v so I'm not to sure it will work? Its just a variable resistor at the end of the day.
Just to clarify, are you saying it is OK to use the engine block as the ground, obviously has to be good with next to no voltage drop. The link above shows a separate wire to the ecu ground which is the reason I asked on here.

Re: Oil pressure & temperature sensors
You could use the engine ground, which will introduce a ground loop, but you don't really have a choice if you are using a sensor wired from another device.
