will any EPROM programmer work for hondata, or does it have to be pocket programmer as shown on the website??

i don't see why any EPROM programmer wouldn't work. As long as it reads binary files and is able to translate them to the ROM, i don't see a problem. I do believe if you continue to read some of the other posts, one person did mention that they use a different programmer and it does work for them.

However, if you wish to use an sort of emulation feature with the Romeditor, then I believe you gotta use the Pocket Programmer or the other emulator.

Any EPROM programmer will work, just make sure it supports the chips you want to use. I use an ancient Modular Circuit Technology MOD-MUP connected to a 386 to burn EPROMs for my ECU. It doesn't support flash EPROMs, so I just use UV-erasable EPROMs (27256), and it works fine.
