'distributor error' sensor?
'distributor error' sensor?
Can some one explain what the new distributor error sensor is? What error in the distributor would trigger this sensor?
Re: 'distributor error' sensor?
It indicates there is an issue which may cause unwanted rev limits or cause issues with the CPR kit.
Re: 'distributor error' sensor?
I also have this issue. I have replaced the distrubutor for a brand new uni and the fault is still there, i have also checked the ECU pin outs match the correct wires on the distrutor plug and all is fine. My Engine check light remains lit at all times. Ive not started the car yet as I want to check out this issue first.
Re: 'distributor error' sensor?
The error is generated when the ecu does not get the correct number of pulses from the distributor per revolution. It indicates a bad distributor, wiring or ECU, but usually it is the distibutor. We find that only OEM distributors work well, and of course they are hard to find now.

Thanks for this. My ecu is brand new, the distributor is new and im confident the wiring is good. Would it be ok to start the car and see if the error clears ?
Re: 'distributor error' sensor?
A new OEM distributor, or a new after-market / rebuilt distributor?
The ECU should not generate this error unless the engine is running. I'd clear all the errors and try cranking it.

Re: 'distributor error' sensor?
Noticed this guy was on in the sensor list and my car wont start now. It was driving fine, went for a spin, would die in between shifts and at stop light, then really hard to start afterwards. Got it home and now it wont start at all. I have spark and fuel pressure at the rail, I haven't checked compression yet. I checked fuses under the hood, but not the ones inside yet. I noticed on my display that the timing went to -4 and the stft went to -100 as well. Wideband reads 9.2 when cranking, I know its a bit rich, just giving as much info as I can. I've replaced the coil in my distributor about a year ago with some auto zone or O'rilleys brand. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Its a OEM distributor, I have not even started the engine, the distrubitor error light has shown from day 1. There are no error codes in the fault code log.Hondata wrote: Thu May 28, 2020 7:37 am A new OEM distributor, or a new after-market / rebuilt distributor?

Soooooooooo, anybody got any ideas?
Re: 'distributor error' sensor?
Try the ECU on a another vehicle and see if it gets the same issue. If it does, it may be the ECU.

Re: 'distributor error' sensor?
Thanks for advice! I did try multiple distributors with no avail. I also tried swapping back to the stock ecu and still didn’t start!🤦🏼♂️
