I for one appreciate you taking the time to respond to all of these inquiries on the 05-06 KPro, nonexistent as it may be.Hondata wrote:You do not understand the issues. We make the same or less money on a 05 KPro than the 02-04.
Believe us; we would like to make a KPro for the 05-06. We would love to eliminate the harness, ECU and o2 sensor and associated costs of these parts.
Unfortunately the ECU was changed so that it is not possible to make a KPro. It is not a matter of spending time or money to make a KPro ? it just cannot be done for technical reasons. It is not because we want to make more money or punish 05 owners.
We have offered a solution so that 05 owners who want to run a KPro. The cost is higher but that is unavoidable given that route we had to take.
However, I would appreciate it, and I'm sure I'm not alone, if you could elaborate a bit more on the technical issues you are facing in cracking the 05-06 ECU. As a full time EE and Embedded Systems designer and programmer, I face electronic design issues every day which I'm sure are very similar to yours. I've designed and developed an ECU of my own for a SAE competition using single cylinder applications and I can understand the challenges involved.
Are your problems embedded software related? Are you unable to reliably program tables in EEPROM or FLASH? Does the new ECU hardware lack a programming interface you can access? I'm sure with some detailed information on the problem, those of us who are technically inclined could provide an explanation to the community that would significantly decrease the traffic of inquiries you are seeing while presenting a solid technical argument for abandoning the 05-06 KPro option.
