Jailbreak + Basemap

Hi

I just purchased a flash pro for my 2018 fk8 (haven't got it yet) and just have a couple questions...

1. I'm going to instant jailbreak, however, the garage I ordered from said to make sure that I jailbreak before I plug the unit in. I saw in the tutorials that you jailbreak when you plug the unit into the OBD port and computer. I'm a bit confused as to which way is the correct way or if there is one?

2. I have a HKS Legamax exhuast, HKS intercooler with pipingkit, and PRL HVI. I live in Canada and run 91 may contain 10% eth. Which basemap is recommended for my current build? Also, I've heard that the basemaps are a little too aggressive (youtube vids) for the not very good 91 here in Canada (Vancouver BC to be exact). Is there any specific adjustments that I can do for this?

1. Plug in what unit? The FlashPro? You have to in order to jailbreak.
2. 91 octane - int.
Our base maps are tuned correctly. A lot of people like to post negative comments about our tuning so that it makes them look more knowledgeable.

I am also wondering is it safe to run 93 maps with vancouver 94octane gas ? thank you

Yes, as long as they measure the octane as the average of RON and MON.

thanks for the response, and does hondata has a safe feature that preventing the knock or anything bad happening ? in case the gas is not as good for the 93 maps . ? thanks again

We don't change the knock control logic, but the ECU will retard with knock. If you search you'll find a lot of reports that 94 octane fuel in Canada is about the same as 91 octane in the US, so you may be better using the 91 octane calibration.
