Any reason not to use PRB calibration on PNF?

Post by NickEdwards »

I have a K-Pro V4 on a PNF ECU. I was told that I should run PNF base tunes in PNF ECUs, but I see that if I do that I lose options like Overrun Cutoff and Tip in Fuel. Looking at the comments in this forum it looks like there should be no issue running a PRB tune (I'll be starting from scratch anyways). Is there any reason I should not run a PRB tune, or any issues I should look out for?

Setup:
Car - 1972 Datsun 510
Engine - K24A4 (all stock)
Trans - CD009 (speed sensor on driveshaft, into "Alternate speed input" on K-pro with 87350 pulse/km)
Turbo - BW S252 SX-E, 0.83 A/R
Injectors - 1000cc
AEM 3.5 bar MAP
Throttle body - stock
Intake manifold - custom center feed
Exhaust manifold - custom equal length (short) tubular twin scroll
ECU type - PNF

You can use either a PNF or PRB calibration. It is up to you.
