Installed s300 and I cannot read any values

Post by Biglady112 »

This car was running just yesterday with this exact ecu. I took it to a local Hondata dealer and had them perform the docketing service as well as install the boost control components. They did this for another ecu last year and everything went very smooth.

I have verified that onboard data logging is not activated. I only have the red flashing light on the board and no green lights after the key is on and lap top is connected. It appears as if it is saving the changes I give it and it will erase the ecu as well.

This car was swapped previous to me bringing it home. It looks like they did the DPFI to MPFI swap, then the obd0 to 0bd1 swap. As I said the car has been running this way for four years. Installed the S300 and no I have troubles.

Ignition is reading -4*
Map(hondata 4 bar) is reading -29.9
Ecu is 302
Iat is 302
Rpm will not respond
Tps is at -13% and will not respond

I cleaned any excess solder off the board. The only thing that changed before the install was wiring in an injector resistor box for some low impedance injectors. I have also downloaded the most recent Smanager software and drivers. No change. As I said it was working in this configuration 24 hours ago and has been without issue until the s300 went in today.

Anyone have any idea where to start?

J12 has been removed as well. Removed the injector resistor and still the same problem.

Serial # is 50653. Purchased and serviced by Importsports.

I did a continuity check and everything checks out just fine according to the diagrams I found. So am I down to the latch chip or s300?

Also the idle control motor is buzzing when ignition on and ecu plugged in.

Make sure that the s300 is seated properly on the pins. If it is still not working then you need to contact whoever did the work on the ECU as it sounds like something may have been damaged.

They tested the ecu this morning and everything works fine. They installed another S300 board and everything works as it should. They are now telling me I have to deal with you about a warranty for the board. I now have a dead car I cannot do anything with.

I was told it was because I had to register it to communicate with it. Not terribly happy they are not willing to take care of a product I purchased yesterday that I could not use out of the box.

Again, this was purchased through Import Sports in Denver, Co.

I also emailed hondata support for this as well.

My number is 720-682-8133. I would love for this to be resolved so I can finish and use my car.

They put the ecu in another car. Put in another board, car starts and runs fine and data logs fine. Put this board in and the car will start but you cannot datalog anything and all the values are maxed out or not reading as stated in the first post.

Any outcome on this? I'm having the EXACT same issue except my S300 has been installed for years and it just started doing this yesterday.
