05-06 k-pro
I know that you can get an adapter to use an 02-04 ECU on 05 or 06 but I am still unclear as to if there will eventually be a k-pro specifically for the 05-06. If there will be, is there any advantage to waiting until that comes out or just getting the 02-04 with the adapter. Thanks guys.

that is ridiculous.. how can you guys expect us to dish out an extra $500 for something u are to lazy to make.. the 05's are hot right now and hondata would make good money off those sales. I for one was ready to buy kpro for $1150 but not for $1600.. that is ridiculous.. way to let us down, i was a buyer 100% until this crap. no way will u see me buy a product that is overpriced by $500
You do not understand the issues. We make the same or less money on a 05 KPro than the 02-04.
Believe us; we would like to make a KPro for the 05-06. We would love to eliminate the harness, ECU and o2 sensor and associated costs of these parts.
Unfortunately the ECU was changed so that it is not possible to make a KPro. It is not a matter of spending time or money to make a KPro ? it just cannot be done for technical reasons. It is not because we want to make more money or punish 05 owners.
We have offered a solution so that 05 owners who want to run a KPro. The cost is higher but that is unavoidable given that route we had to take.

FOREWORD: I don't work at hondata and am in no way associated with them.oakenfolde wrote:that is ridiculous.. how can you guys expect us to dish out an extra $500 for something u are to lazy to make.. the 05's are hot right now and hondata would make good money off those sales. SUMMARY: You couldn't be more wrong or out of line.
Sounds like you're to lazy to to operate the search button -- the reasons have been explained time and time again. Hondata is the only company offering a solution that actually has the ability to control VTC on the 05+ rsx. AEM is the only other system that does VTC (cam angles) to my knowledge, and they don't have a plug and play ems solution for the 05+, and regardless, it's far more expensive than you're willing to pay anyway.
I for one thank hondata for taking the time to develop a harness and such a feature filled solution for those of us who are serious about modding our cars to the extent that we *need* a programmable ecu with all of the features kpro provides.
Perhaps you aren't the target audience... because if you were, you'd realize the amazing value that is being able to pay $1600 dollars to get a wideband system and a fully programmable ecu with boost control capabilities, nitrous/water/meth control x 2, lean protections, datalogging WITH wideband datalogging, overboost protection, and a slew of other features that are worth mentioning but are too many to do so.
If you want similar features for your 05+ rsx without getting a kpro TODAY, you would have to get the AEM universal ems for $3200 plus around $100 - $200 for a wideband o2 sensor for the universal ems wideband drivers to use. Not to mention you will have to figure out how to install it by connecting all of your sensors, bypassing certian ones to your oem ecu, trying to make the honda ecu happy that you're stealing control from it. God only knows how well that will work, let alone if you will get VTC working like you want to. You just "plug in" a kpro, and you "upload" a map... and you're ready to go.
Hondata was so lazy in fact, that they made a solution 05+ people, however ungreatful or uninformed some of you seem to be about the whole situation.
