ELD & Alternator

Post by 90TegGSR »

.
My 90LS does not have an ELD, so of course I disabled it.

The other day after downloading from the ECU to check on something else, I got code 20, ELD error.

I've seen the option to disabled ecu control over the alternator, in the same menu where you disable the eld.

Do I need to do that to? As far as I've known the alternator only generates current required for what's being used.

What are the pluses of having the ECU control the alternator?
Thanks

Alt-C is for lowering the voltage at certain times to be more efficient. It is not related to ELD. Is anything wired to the ELD input(D10)?

It's a straight setup, with Rywire obd0 to obd1 conversation harness and obd0 engine harness, adapters for the obd1 dizzy, and adapters for the obd1 (oside) injectors.

Nothing else.

You can try it and see what happens.

If I disable it, it'll be like my obd0 was, right? It had no ECU control over the alternator?

It will not cause any problem if you disable it.
