Help Reading Logs - 93 Base Tune - Knock, Pump Duty

Hi all, looking for some help reading these logs. Very cold day today, maybe 10-15 minutes from startup. Only 93 in the tank.

I see there is knock retard on #4 and at one point I saw 100% fuel. Good? Bad?
From reading the threads I see that it's acceptable to see some retard at high rpm, but I think I see values at lower RPMs.
Also I see it happening during when there is slip at 2% (is this how it works?).

This is with the base 93 with improved throttle response.

Mods:
- Exhaust, front pipe, stock exhaust
- PRL Intake

Thanks for your help.

AFM needs 5% more fuel over 2.8V.

You are running out of fuel 4500-5500 rpm and need to reduce the maximum air charge in this area. eg datalog0000 at the 1 minute mark.

Knock is not bad but make the two above changes before looking at the knock retard.

Thanks!

Will do and will let you know how it turns out!

Edit: for AFM is that Fuel > Fuel Pressure (normal) ??

And aircharge, I take it thats "Air Charge Limit" under "Boost Control"?

Had help from a fellow civicx member, did the two adjustments. Will report back when I log again.

UPDATE 2 - Re: Help Reading Logs - 93 Base Tune - Knock, Pump Duty

Post by jasonjm »

Using base 93 map,
- lowered increased AFM 5% in the suggested voltage range.
- lowered aircharge 5% over the range 4000 - 5500

Note 1: I had lowered at 4500-5000 and saw the logs, hit 100% again and saw that maybe at 4000 would help
Note 2: At the end of the log is me driving into a gravel driveway with a slight incline - I see knock retard perhaps due to all the rocks?

My noob reading:
- now running rich toward 2nd half of voltage range based on fuel trims?
- still managing to hit a peak fuel pump duty one time (maybe i should lower the aircharge -5% at 3500 as well?)

Here are the logs:

Correction, Note 1 should have read:

"Note 1: I had lowered at 4500-5500 and saw the logs, hit 100% fuel again and saw that maybe starting at 4000 would help more"

Knock retard is fine.
Yes, I would lower the AFM a little 3-7-4.1V
Also yes, try reducing the airc at 4000rpm.

Ok, here is my latest log.

I keep hitting the fuel pump limit, and I've been lowering the air charge. How much lower should I go (in 4500 rpm for instance I've lowered -8%)? Is there anything else I should change?

Looking at all my logs, every time fuel pump hits 100% i have TC engaged.
It's a bit frigid where I am and I'm not surprised my tires aren't hooking up _at all_.
Is this expected/normal? Or should I just basically never see the fuel pump hit this high even with TC?

Trying to answer my own Qs, I think now I need to modify the Throttle torque to further limit things -- BUT i need to get clean runs without TC coming on too. So in a way I need to go back and retest. :-P
