Strange Ignition behaviour

Post by racing-honda »

Hi,

I have a Euro CTR (with PRA ECU) with CAI and SuperSprint header+exhaust. And of course k-pro.
As you can see from the attached datalog at relatively low rpms and light throttle, ignition jumps up and down to the set value in the tables (see attached cal). God knows why. If this happens the engine sounds like it has bronchitis...
Other than this I don't experience any problems.
Any idea what this could be?

Forgot to mention: I also don't understand why it seems to go from closed loop to open, while the MAP threshold of 80 kPa is not reached at all...

Looking at the datalogs again I now see that it goes into open loop every time after throttle is released (TPS 0) - guess that's normal after all

I have a similar problem.
My idle is between 11 and 22? Ignition, but I put 18.5 for 1000rpm and 20.5 for 1250rpm.
My A/F is 12.8-13.2 at idle, because I don't want misfire error with 750cc injectors

Look between 10'07 and 11'31.

At idle the ECU uses 'ignition controlled idle speed', where the ignition timing is used to stablise the idle speed. It is normal to see the ignition timing varying from -10 to +10 degrees.
