Used Kpro Firmware Update Needed?

Post by jtrue »

Do I need to be concerned about the attached screenshot? I purchased a 2004 Civic SI(EP3) with Kpro. Appears the firmware is out of date. When I hit the datalog button it states that the calibration was uploaded with an older version of Kpro and I need to re-upload with the current version. I believe it's just an updated base calibration, currently the car has intake and 2.5" exhaust. Is there a base calibration that I should be looking for to upload before I take it to get tuned?

Found where I can upload a calibration, assuming these base maps are ok/safe to upload as a starting point? I'm running 91 but in SLC, UT at 4500 ft. Do I still need to upgrade my firmware?

Sorry for the string of questions, but my registration details are greyed out as well. Just uploaded a new EP3 specific base kal for high octane and it uploaded fine. So now my only questions are do I need to update firmware and how do I register as the new owner?

1. The firmware may be corrupt. It still may work for you.
2. The calibration should work but the only way to know for sure is on a dyno.
3. That KPro does not have owners details.

Thank you, should I try to update the firmware or leave as is? If I should try an upgrade where do I download and what's the process to update? I searched but can't find a firmware package, assuming that's because you don't want everyone upgrading firmware and potentially bricking the ECU?

The firmware cannot be updated. There is no problem. It's just that you have an earlier version board. Do not worry as long as it uploads and datalogs correctly.
