Re: VTEC is ok?
Swapped to my spare VTEC solenoid. VTEC still do not kick in. I start to suspect it is due to the connector which plug in to the VTEC pressure sensor (oil pressure sensor). The wiring was broke and I soldered it. And now regardless of whether I plug in the connector to the VTEC pressure sensor, the ...

Re: VTEC is ok?
Monitored and found the VTP always 'ON' regardless of speed and RPM. (VTP is 'ON' even after i removed the oil pressure connector near VTEC solenoid) ---> Hmm...it seems like Hondata do not need the oil pressure sensor at all!
While VTP is alway 'ON', my VTS is alway 'OFF'. Since VTS is alway OFF ...

VTEC is ok?
Hi, i have 2 questions:
1) First, how can i check whether my vtec is able to be engaged and working? Is there any sensor reading i can use in hondata? Can I just datalog the VTS value?
2) Next, I read some bro have to disable launch control to allow vtec to be engaged? is it necessary and why ...

Re: Setting ignition timing -Help needed
Hmm...my concern now is if i advanced to the extreme but engine will not knock..it will be the same if i use a timing gun right? Is there some problem i need to correct before i even start to adjust the ignition timing? I though if advanced to the extreme most engine should start to have some ...

Re: Setting ignition timing -Help needed
Hmm..i serviced the distributor and put back to the original mark. Only after I removed then i noticed that my distributor is almost to the most advanced point. Surprising no knocking..When i checked the hondata IGN sensor reading, it is at most 22. Any idea is it normal? My compression too low such ...

Setting ignition timing -Help needed
Can I know whether I can base on just hondata to read and adjust the ignition timing (by adjusting distributor) during idling?
If not, can I know why a lighting gun is still needed? why cannot just read the value in Hondata and adjust the distributor?

Re: Ignition timing
As i am using p287 for Hondata s300, I realise I need to disable knock sensor at all times. I just monitored my ignition reading by adding a IGN sensor under "DISPLAY".
Observations for value of IGN sensor:
>> Ignition during idling is usually between 18 to 21.
>> When i am driving below 5000rpm ...

Re: Ignition timing
Yes. He does not have a lighting gun as his is spolit. The reason why i asked is because after he serviced the distributor (e.g. dissembled the unit, clean it, replace seals etc), i can drive to another location and everything was ok. But once i try to move off from that location, the car can only ...

Ignition timing
Hi, I just went to service my distributor at the workshop. Before it was removed, i made some marking on the distributor and engine so that I can put it back to original state (i.e. Original ignition timing) after servicing it. Anyway, my mechanic changed for me some seals in the distributor and ...

Can educate me what is the purpose of tuning since ECU can already adjust the amt of fuel according to air intake etc by itself to run at slightly richer AF ratio? From what i know stock ECU has a base map and then S300 will have its own tuned map.Isn't the S300 tuned map no difference from a stock ...
