the dealership told me the specific code but i'm forgeting it now;
its definately for the "coolant sensor" becuase i looked it up on
a few sites to verify at that time.

and the only reason I just went along to think that was the coolant
sensor is becuase thats what the dealership told me (but they didn't
seem that smart) - and becuase they said that was the
code that the ecu was tripping...

well that hex bolt thing i took pictures of is on the back of the
block like you said; right next to the oil filter. i couldn't find anything
else that looked like that might work..

i am not sure though how that "touches" coolant; since thats what
that plug is suppsed to go into..since its on the ...

I am pretty sure I am supposed to unscrew this hex bolt and
screw in the coolant sensor..but wanted to check with you on how
to get this bolt off correctly.

So still didn't solve this stupid problem..
tried getting the thermostat housing off of the GSR but the
idiots took the engine apart to get some parts off of it and i can't find
it anywhere..

so i extended the wiring harness; but i can't find the plug on the type
R engine anywhere; looked from ...

1. My GSR harness cannot plug into the current type r coolant sensor? correct?
2. The coolant sensor is attached to the wiring harness I believe; I was
told that the "plug" was the coolant sensor, were the wrong? They just
said that the coolant sensor was unable ...

I still have my hydrolocked GSR engine; could I take that
thermostat housing and swap it with the type R one?
Or is there a place on the type R engine I can plug that sensor into..
I guess I didn't follow the end part!

Swapped in a '99 JDM ITR into my '00 GSR (hydrolocked engine).
Used orginal GSR wiring harness and USDM P73 Ecu.

Solved all sensor problems except for coolant sensor.
The people that did the swap could not figure out where to plug
in the coolant sensor. Told me I would have to get ...
