Re: Basemap Kelford 179A cams, RBC, AEM CAI, Race exhaust

Will this suffice for a week (before pro tune)-with prb and tanabe cat back? Srry but I didn't find but this one kelford k20a base tune.

Yes because your exhaust manifold and catalytic converter is going to lower your volumetric efficiency and ultimately your power potential. Because you will be ...

KPRO III Digital Input

I GOTTA GET THIS INFO!!!! I recently bought a KPRO III BECAUSE it has a serial input. This means that I can use my own custom controllers (which I play with frequently) to arbitrate all sorts of special sensors and inputs. Not to mention add as many inputs and outputs as I like to my board. I.E ...

Re: Basemap Kelford 179A cams, RBC, AEM CAI, Race exhaust

You probably cannot use this to run the Kelford 179-B camshafts. The 179-A camshafts are significantly different from stock but will still run on a stock map (though you lose power until you tune them). The 179-B camshafts will lose even more power and cannot be tuned to outperform the 179-A on a ...

You always need to clay the engine because there are far too many differences from engine to engine to accurately predict the maximum cam advance. For example, the type of intake valve used, amount of valve seat recession/lapping, cylinder head / block decking.

Also, you should always use a ...

Replacement ECU pins

You can obtain replacement ECU pins from Newark here: http://www.newark.com/tyco-electronics-amp/175265-1/contact-receptacle-22-18awg-crimp/dp/85C1211

I have tested these and they fit perfectly. They are very cheap and allow you to do a good clean install just like factory without damaging your ...

Without getting your motor clayed there is no real safe way of knowing how much cam angle you can give. To be honest the tuner did right in playing it safe as you had no idea how far they could go and he had no idea.
Personally I would have either asked you to find the details out from the ...

Kelford Cams Safe Maximum Intake Advance?

2003 RSX Type-S
K PRO
Kelford 179-A Camshafts (Stock valve springs)

I had my car tuned (with good top end results) only to discover after I began dissecting the calibration created by my tuner that the intake camshaft is never advanced beyond 40 degrees. These cams are supposed to have "a little ...

Found a connector diagram!!!!

This is required reading! It explains what I was doing wrong and how to do it the right way.

Basically, the locking section has to be pried on, then you insert something really really small into the larger of the two pin holes and attempt to pry in a the direction away from the locking section of ...

Still can't do it...

So I outed the money for the whole depinning tool set from Honda and still can't get a pin to remove from the socket.

It appears that there is a section of the connector (the full width of the connector) that snaps into place from the "side" or technically the bottom as the plug is perpendicular. I ...

ECU Wire Pin Removal

I believe that it is necessary to remove the ECU pin in order to connect an input or output. I.E. Clutch switch. I have been thus far unable to remove the pin however. Is there a trick to this?

Also, Where can I obtain replacement pins?

best guess

I am a little lost on the first post... My thoughts were along the lines of whatever O2 sensor you have configured when you datalogged determines the voltage range (and values recorded) for the A/F calculations. The voltage seems the important number. If you change your O2 sensor configuration and ...

Guilty as charged. Didn't RTFM...

Actually, that is not far from what I had in mind, much better than I thought possible with K-Manager, and probably as good as anything I could create.

I believe that I can be happy with the tools that K Manager provides. They obviously put a lot of work into this. (Much more than I realized.)

But ...

Thanks for taking the time to help... But this is an apple and orange thing. I am looking to use the USB interface (virtual serial device over USB called FTDI named after the company who pioneered them).

The post and information from Hondata regards connecting through an ecu pin...
