if your having problem with knock rethink your ignition tables. also take a look at ur af's. wht is ur af at when knock occurs? another precaution is to run higher octane we should be running at least 91 i run 93 just to be safe and have had no problem with knock. knock is heat and compression ...

so i know that if you advance cam timing on any engine it will increase your power at lower rpms but hurt you at higher rpms. and vice versa retarding cam timing will give you better power at higher rpms but hurt you at lower rpms. this is why the I-vtec is amazing you can advance and retart cam ...

if you back off timing and in turn backing off timing you mean retard timing your essentually will richen up the air fuel mixture. if you advance timing your going to do the opposite you can watch this by adjusting your calibration points where u are running rich u can either give it more timing or ...

well then what is the knock % or k.level used for? trying to tune close to knock with out actually getting a knock it just seemed my understanding was correct? must not be just would appreciate further understanding of this

i was also noticing that k.level percent was getting up to about 85% at some points in pulls. does it have to reach 100% in order for there to be a knock recorded? or how should i interpret the k.level percent as a warning of getting close to knock?
