Engine overrun Stalling issue

When running large overlap and lift non vtec profiles with VTC, in the overrun zone as the throttle is lifted off and clutch depressed, engine stalls intermittently.

As the cam and ignition timing is locked out below 1000rpm there is no way to 'bump' up the ignition to prevent the engine from ...

It looks closed to normal. See ignition controlled idle in the help file. http://www.hondata.com/help/smanager/index.html?idleparameters.htm

It has not got much vacuum for the highish idle speed, so if you make tuning / mechanical changes which improve the idle quality then you'll find the ...

Fixed the voltage problem. Changed alternator but ignition is still fluctuating at idle. What could be the problem?

Attached is a datalog showing the erratic ignition at idle.

For this test i've sent the ignition timing at 25degrees for the entire idling region but ignition timing fluctuates very badly.

Trigger problem or noise?

unstable ignition timing at idle problem with distributor?

Hi guys,

datalogging shows a stable idle but ignition timing fluctuates 4 degrees erratically.

Motor stars to misfire at WOT above 4000rpm. Everything checks out alright. So i'm guessing the distributor might be the culprit, any suggestions?

Could it be noise interference or a faulty crank or ...

Help with low vacuum Map readings on ITB setup

Hi guys,

I have tuned at least more than 10 ITB setups. I found that the Hondata s300 or Kpro requires a constant Map reading to function properly.

I'm running Alpha N, TPS vs RPM indexing for an ITB setup. This particular ITB kit has problem with low map readings because the throttle plates are ...

Datalogs showing ignition timing dropping to -4degrees!

Hi,

I am having a weird ignition timing drops. While driving normally, around 1500rpm with TPS around 8 to 10% datalog would show timing dropping to -4degrees momentarily and kicking back to the table values after awhile.

I've made datalogs on this problem and analysed all possible inputs and ...

I advanced the exhaust by 2 cam degrees and the motor is idling fine. Its the overlap thats the problem.

A few blips on the throttle will send the rpms going down to the 500rpm range while the motor struggles to rev back up to 1000rpm idle. What can i do to help bump up the rpm?

I can't adjust ...

VTC always returns to 0 when the throttle is released / at low rpm.

The critical thing is how much manifold vacuum you have, which doesn't sound very much at the moment. I would tune the lobe centerlines for best idle vacuum and then use the VTC to tune for max power.

I think the low manifold ...

Large overlap cams to idle

Just started the motor last night. This motor has 12.5cr with very large pri and sec lobes almost similar to killer vtec cams. The exhaust centerline has been set to 107degrees.

I could get the motor to idle at 850rpms with the usual killer vtec blurp.
But it's idling at the 7 to 8 column range ...

Low impedence injectors without resistor box = damaged p30?

The motor was running some low impedence injectors for a few days without a resistor box. Its on a P30 S300 ecu.

Opened up the ecu and there are no visible signs of any damage.

Now, motor runs crazy rich when vtec is engaged. Like from 13:1 before vtec to 9:1 once vtec engages. In order to tune ...

when i try to upload it with a new calibration from the laptop, there was error. I cannot be uploaded.

Do i have to use the older version V1.36 instead? Do i need to update the ecu in order to use the new Smanager?
