Re: random lean spikes at cruise

Well I have ruled out the clogged injector theory. I had them professionally flow tested and they checked out perfect.

If there are any other suggestions, please let me know. One of these days I will get it on a dyno to check fuel pressure.

Re: random lean spikes at cruise

Interesting. Could you tell me more about how injector cleaner can inadvertently clog injectors?

What sort of contaminants in the fuel system do you have in mind?

We are re-tuning injector dead times now to see if that solves it.

Re: random lean spikes at cruise

Well, the injectors are practically new. See, I had a good tune on this same setup for a little over a year. Car ran great, no issues. Then I had a misfire condition and after going through all the troubleshooting, it turned out it was the previous injectors. I ran some Chevron Techron through the ...

Re: random lean spikes at cruise

ok, that's a possibility. Any other theories I can rule out before I take that step?

I guess I should mention that it runs fine in WOT up to redline. Is it possible that the fuel pressure stumbles when I roll onto the throttle?

Re: random lean spikes at cruise

Yes I have a gauge at the fuel rail. It shows 60 psi at idle. I do not have a means of checking fuel pressure while driving.

Re: random lean spikes at cruise

Hey Spunkster,

Thanks for your time. You can see the behavior at 0:23, 0:47-0:49, 0:53-0:55, 1:16, 2:24-2:25, 3:27, 4:20, 6:00-6:01, 6:42, 7:19, 8:14.5, 8:32.

Of course it's difficult to drive the vehicle and note the exact moments when it happens. When it occurs it feels like the car loses power ...

random lean spikes at cruise

Hello all,

I'm out of ideas and I'm here looking for some advice.

2003 RSX-S with:
Merc racing JRSC w 3" pulley
Stock crank pulley
GM IAT sensor after the blower
Hondata 4bar MAP
DW65c fuel pump with ID725 injectors
Kpro4

Logs show random lean spikes at cruise or very low TPS values, like lightly ...

adjusting for new injectors

Hello all,

So here's the situation. My car was tuned by Magnesium and it was running well for the first four months or so. Then it started exhibiting problems; stumbling idle, off-throttle surging and finally a misfire on #2. I went through all the troubleshooting steps and it seemed to indicate ...

Re: immobilizer issues after Kpro upgrade

Yes, I did but the immobilizer issue persisted.

Here's the timeline:

disconnected battery
installed new v4 Kpro
reconnected battery
connected Kmanager to Kpro via USB
failed to start vehicle due to immobilizer
reflashed Kpro with same current configuration
failed to start vehicle due to ...

immobilizer issues after Kpro upgrade

Hello,

So I had my Kpro upgraded last week from v1 to v4 and I now have it installed in the vehicle. Prior to the upgrade, my immmobilizer never gave me any problems. After installing the v1 Kpro, I had my immobilizer paired correctly and enabled. It worked fine for many years until I had the ...

For those who are interested, the USB 2.0 PCMCIA card worked. I was able to datalog and record just fine, no problems whatsoever. I'm still running Win2KPro service pack 4, XP or Vista 32 bit was not necessary.

I checked all my electrical grounds and they're good. I also confirmed my spark plugs are resistor type. I went out and bought a USB 2.0 PCMCIA card so we'll see if that works. Any idea where I can get that version of KManager? Thanks!

LOL!! Well that's just great. Then how is it that it will datalog just fine until recording begins?

USB, Vista and datalogging issues

Hey all,
I just installed my Kpro a few days ago and I'm attempting to get a 3rd gear datalog so I can get started on tuning my A/F and knock. I have two laptops available to do the datalogging.

One laptop is brand new, 2.2 Ghz, 2 gig ram, Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I installed Kmanager but when I ...
