Re: Awesome work HONDATA...

Consider me an interested GE8 user.

I do have a question.....

How far apart are the GE8 and CR-Z ECUs externally? So, let's say that I could just plug in a CR-Z box in place of my GE8 box.... Although unnecessarily costly, it could be an option of the pinouts are close & the ECU wouldn't complain ...

There is one other problem that is not of immediate importance. Ever since the software upgrade that started all this, there has been a nasty driveability issue. In competition it is not a problem, but since it is a rally car it is also driven on the road in normal traffic at normal speeds. In the ...

Where are you in Germany?

I know that a lot of tuners here don't know how to use Hondata's software, but it's not that different from anything else, so they should be able to help you.

Just call up a tuner. Software isn't that big of a deal. If you know how to tune, you can tune pretty much ...

Well, I just tried a Monster Cables USB cable, on this cable the shield is connected only on the computer side, and it has two really big ferrite cores, I saw it when I was buying ram, and I figured "Why the hell not". It worked. Flawlessly.

The ecu is mounted in the stock location, and the old ...

Look up the 'bathtub curve'. That's the burn-in period to which I'm refering.

Well the person that installed my components, has installed 30+ of them prior and has also experienced the same issue with 1 or 2, so with all these cases appearing, I doubt its user install error on most of these. Hopefully the issue can be found and solved.

That's ~10% failure rate. That seems ...

Try setting the shift light about 200 rpm lower than the shift point you have in mind. It'll take a bit for it to come on, so it'll be full-bore by the time you hit the target shift RPM. This is different on all engines, so just play with it.

Alright, I tried a new laptop. This one was brand new, and after about 20 minutes of driving normally on the roads (Down the highway on the mountain, through town, on the highway outside of town, on base, etc.) it locked up again, like it normally does. Unplugging, then replugging and reconnecting ...

I've tried three laptops, the usb going bad was my first idea. I even tried running it through a hub, same deal. I'm going to try a few different brands and lengths of usb cables next.

I'll start from scratch with a new calibration, but I don't have another car to try the s300 in.

It's got the stock ignition system, and resistor-type NGK plugs, and resistor type Denso wires.

I just checked all the grounds, and buffed them with steel wool, and nothing's changed.

SManager crashing while datalogging

When reporting any s300 problems, please include:

- the calibration (as an attachment)
- a datalog of a problem (as an attachment)
- what sort of vehicle you have
- what sort of ECU you are using
- anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU (don't ...
