Yes, the FANC is a ground. I didn't look at the schematic.

FANC is an output, so will only show on when the ECU is commanding the FANC on, not when the ECT switch is grounding to turn on the fan/s.

AFAIK, my USDM OBD I P72 does not use the FANC for anything. It does not use it to turn on the fans for temp (ECT switch grounds) nor the A/C (grounds through ...

I have no experience with boosted engines or nitrous.

I just wanted to give my first hand experience that directly related to the question. Nitrous, you might want to do something differently; boost you might want to do something differently. Even NA you might want to do it differently.

I found ...

If I remember correctly, I found that ignition only was faster/smoother than fuel only and that both was smoother still. Unless for some reason you want fire in the exhaust system, I would always cut fuel. I know this was not part of your question.

So to sum up, I use both with NA and no nitrous ...

Most widebands send out a voltage that is backwards from what the ECU expects to see. Wideband is low voltage=rich, high voltage=lean. Narrowband is the opposite.

That being said, I use NepTune which can invert and use a wideband for closed loop and found that narrowband emulation works better ...

Topic: Feature Request: A/C Cut Re-engage Delay?

Thank you.

I have not used the software. I assumed there was no delay based on my current software and some other general knowledge of what is in (or is not in) the stock code, meaning you either somehow incorporated the stock delay or you had to add one in.

I have had some discussion about and ...

Feature Request: A/C Cut Re-engage Delay?

I would like an adjustable time delay from when the A/C compressor is cut due to RPM or TPS to when it comes back on.

This would prevent the compressor from coming back on during a shift and would generally allow for overall smoother compressor cut operation.

Looking at pictures, it appears that the USDM P72 does have these resistors.

Will the ELD input still function as an ELD input after these resistors are removed? Specifically, when these resistors are removed and nothing is connected to the ELD input, is there still reference voltage (4.6V or so stock)?

Looking at the Helms, it seems (can't be sure, just an educated guess ...

With the delay disabled, the fuel cut turns on as soon as all the parameters are met. With the delay enabled, it will delay around .5 sec until it cuts fuel. So if a parameter (usually MAP) is fluctuating right around the on/off point, the delay eliminates the fuel cut also fluctuating on and off ...

I disconnected the brake switch input and found that the timing increase is still there with the brake switch input fixed either high or low.

I eliminated the ELD and the timing increase is still there.

So it is either the field return input or internal battery voltage monitoring that is causing ...

All I have been able to notice by datalogging is that when not moving or at very low speeds and at hot idle conditions, the timing will advance around a couple of degrees when the brake pedal is depressed. I do not notice that the idle speed increased.

When you said idles up did you mean idles up ...

Brake Switch Input Function (stock)?

I have to change to OBD II for smog reasons and have an easily accessible switch on J1 to switch back to stock if necessary. Also, I am using all the inputs available for switching for their stock functions and want to keep it that way.

So it seems that best input to use is the brake switch input ...
