i did the resistor and everytime i engine brake the car gets check engine code 1.. it dosnt fail to give me that code

im sorry but my shop cant figure out the resistor trick.. can you please give me some instructions and maybe a simple drawing for a visual example. i really want my car to run good. i would appreciate the help! thanks in advanced

i am running a 1992 honda civic cx with a ls/vtec. yes it does have an oxygen sensor, but when you run it open loop it shouldnt be read.. thus me not getting a code 1..
