When you have an obd2 to obd1 converter harness, can you simply disconnect one of the wires on the converter harness that will have the same effect as cutting J12?


Also, I am having to wait like 3-5 seconds to start my car after turning the ignition on, because if I don't wait the CEL stays on ...

UPDATE-the CEL comes on as the ignition is turned on. If I wait about 5 seconds, the CEL turns off and I start the car and all is well. If I start the car before the CEL turns off, then my rev limiter is set to 2000 and the CEL remains on.
